As Keldeo and Brian were walking around in route 1, and Brian spotted something in the tall grass. "Hey, what's that?" He asked Keldeo. "It's a wild Pokémon! Let's try to catch it!"
Brian hopped off Keldeo's back. "Come back, Keldeo!" The horse-like pokémon retreated to its pokéball. Brian got out his pokédex. As soon as Brian pointed the device at the creature, it's screen popped up and said, "Azurill - The Polka dot pokémon." "Cool!" Brian shouted. He grabbed the pokéballs out of his backpack. "Alright, here we go!" He immediately threw the pokéball at the unwary pokémon. "Yeah! I caught someth-" The pokéball burst open and the pokémon reappeared in front of him. "What? I threw a pokéball at it! I should've caught it!"
Someone burst out laughing behind Brian, so he immediately turned around to see who it was. Then the person started to say something to him.
"Dude, you can't just throw a pokéball as soon as you enter a battle. You need to weaken the pokémon first." He was just a tad shorter than Brian, had close cut black hair with a flip on the front and some wire-framed glasses. "Here. Let me show you how it's done."
The boy took out a pokéball. "Go!" He threw the pokéball and out came a blue monkey pokémon with a strange looking hairdue. Brian took out his pokédex. The screen popped up and it said,"Panpour - the spray pokémon." Meanwhile, the boy was focused on his opponent. "OK, use tackle!" The panpour ran up to the azurill and lunged at it. BAM! The azurill rolled backwards a few times at hit a tree. "Good job! OK, now use scratch!" The panpour's claws started to glow a bright blue color. He jumped high in the air and hit the azurill on the way back down. "Awesome!" The boy turned to Brian. "Now! Throw a pokéball!" Brian took out a pokéball and threw it at the weakened azurill. One shake... Two shakes... Three shakes... A clicking noise emitted from the ball.
"Yes! I caught an azurill!" Brian happily exclaimed. "Thanks! Oh, I never got your name," he said. The boy turned to him.
"My name's Frankie. What's yours?"
"I'm Brian. Nice to meet you!" The boys were now good friends.
They talked for a while, but then it started to rain. "Ugh. It's starting to rain. Hey, Frankie, let's head to the pokémon center! C'mon out, Keldeo!" Frankie and Brian hopped onto Keldeo's back, and they rode all the way to the accumula town pokémon center.
After they arrived at the pokémon center and handed the nurse their pokémon, Brian and Frankie sat in the lounge. "So where are you headed? I'm challenging all of the gyms in Unova to reach the Pokémon League," Frankie Told Brian.
"Really? That's cool, but I'm trying to find my sister. She was taken last night by these thugs called Team Plasma, and I'm getting her back," said Brian. "Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that," said Frankie. After a while longer of talking, Brian glanced at the clock. "Oh, it's getting late. We should probably stay here for the night," Brian told his friend. They both got a room, ate dinner, and retreated into their rooms.
Brian was busy thinking before he fell asleep. I wonder where Team Plasma's base is located. It can't be too far from here, right? What do I do until then? I guess I should do lots of training. But how would I train for something so quickly? Where did they take Steph? What are they planning on doing with Steph? What are Team Plasma's ultimate goals? The thoughts kept on coming until Brian started to fall asleep. I'll worry about this tomorrow, he thought. Then he slept for the rest of the night.
