the brightness from the sun hit my eyes as alejandro slide open the blinds, i groaned as i turned my back towards the window and threw the blanket over my face to prevent it from the sun, ale laughed before turning on the lights

"get up" alejandro said. i finally sat up looking over at him

"what do you want??" i said before throwing myself back on the bed, i was tired i didn't feel like doing anything today

"did you forget what today was?" he asked, i frowned

"what?" i was confused, i didn't know what he was talking about, i brought out my phone checking the date and time, my eyes widen looking back up at ale who had a smirk placed on his face while nodding his head

"that's right" he started "we have a long day ahead of us" he finished, i got up from bed and immediately walked to my closet to find a suit

i noticed ale sat down on the mini couch and just scrolled through his phone, i looked at him

"aren't you gonna find something to wear?" i asked before going back to look for a fit, alejandro shrugged as his eyes were still on his phone

"already did" he said, i nodded

today was one of the biggest ball, alejandro always looked forward to it every year just for the food, i didn't really like it, it will always be fill with people you don't even know, i hated it

as for mattia, this was important to him

i took out a decent suit and set it down on my bed, i looked back at ale who got up

"breakfast is ready" alejandro said as he walked out, i walked out as well and downstairs to the kitchen where mattia surprisingly was eating his breakfast peacefully

"today is gonna be fun" ale said as he grabbed his plate and drink, i did the same before taking a seat on the table across from mattia

"will it" i mumbled as i ate my food

i narrowed my eyes as i noticed mattia wasn't talking, i looked over ale who shrugged

"you good?" i asked mattia who quickly looked up at me, he nodded

"do you guys have a date for tonight?" alejandro asked, i shook my head as we both looked at mattia for his answer, he never replied or looked at us "take julia" ale said to mattia but mattia still didn't say anything

i chuckled before going back to my food

the whole conversation while we were eating was alejandro asking questions about today and julia, until mattia finally got tired of ale

"for fuck sake shut up" mattia yelled as he slammed his hand on the table, he was breathing heavily

"mattia" i said to calm him down but he walked away

i shook my head pushing my plate away from me and looking towards alejandro who kept eating, ale shrugged again like nothing happened

"is that what you wanted??" i said before getting up and walking away

Julia pov

"it looks beautiful" miles said to me, i gave him a fake smile before getting in the car with him, michel was on the other car as they drove off to their meeting

"you know what today is" miles spoke up, i chuckled nodding my head "are you coming with us?" miles asked, i looked over at him before shaking my head 'no'

i didn't want to see mattia especially when i know damn well he'll be there, miles bit the inside of his cheeks before looking back at the road

"is this about mattia??" miles said as i looked at him

"what? no" i said, miles looked at me as we made eye contact, he looked straight into my eyes, i broke the eye contact and looked out the window, it was awkward looking into those eyes again

"if it makes it better, we won't force you to do anything, like join us again" miles said. i was surprised, he said it like he meant it, i looked back at him

"why will you anyways" i laughed

he didn't tho, he just chuckled and looked at my direction of the window, i turned around to look back at the window, michel car was right by us, michel looked at us as he rolled down his window and sign us to roll down ours, miles sigh before rolling down the window where i was

"polibio has gone crazy" michel said followed by a laughed, i immediately sat up looking over at michel

both michel and miles looked at me confused, i let out a sigh before laying back on the seat, miles looked back at michel for him to continue talking

"polibio is out of his mind right now" michel started again, he was about to say something else until the green light came up making him shrug and drive off and so did miles

i was worried about mattia now

i debated weather to go to the ball or stay, i didn't want to see mattia but after what michel said i wanted to see how he was doing although he probably hates me now

i decided i was going

and in minutes i got myself dress in a nice fancy dress that went down to my thighs and some white high heels

miles took my hand as we entered the ball, michel was behind us with his date and his guards, the place was loud, i was only able to hear the loud music

"where should we set?" miles asked me but i wasn't paying any attention, i was looking around the room for mattia, he wasn't here yet "julia" miles said making me look at him

"anywhere" i said. miles brought us to a table, michel and his date came over the table after they were done talking to someone

my eyes looked around the room, still no sign of mattia

"ima go to the bathroom" i said to miles who nodded, i got up and my way to the bathroom, once i got to the bathroom i looked at myself through the mirror, there was other people there but i tired to ignore them

"did you hear who polibio was coming here with?" one of the women said to the other one who was in the bathroom

"no, who?" the other women asked, i tired to pretend i was washing my hands or fixing my makeup, i looked at them through the mirror

"amelia morales" the women tired to whisper

amelia? the same person who killed my family?
