Remembering

Ash, Clemont, Serena, Bonnie and now Gary were walking towards the rocky mountain that was thought to have mega stones

"So Gary... what stone do you want to get if you could choose?" Ash asked as he walked next to his rival

"I don't know... probably one for Blastoise because that would look really cool"

Ash and Gary were walking in front of the others and had been talking the entire time

"Wow they are great friends" Bonnie whispered to Clemont and Serena as they saw Ash and Gary walking

"Apparently they were rivals too" Clemont whispered

Serena was not talking much and seemed to be constantly thinking about something

"Hey Serena you haven't said anything since we left Lumiose... are you ok?" Clemont asked Serena with a worried look

Ash heard the question and gave Serena a look in worry which she did not notice

"I'm fine" Serena assured everyone in a low tone

Serena didn't actually know why she was so quiet. She was just thinking about everyone's future and what she will do after Ash competes in the league.

"Ashy-boy are you good" Gary whispered to Ash

"Yea what do you mean?" Ash responded looking at Gary confused

"Nothing it's just that your mood kind of changed suddenly" Gary told Ash with a quiet enough voice that only he would hear

Ash just nodded and ignored Gary's questioning. Gary looked at Ash and then back at Serena

'Hmm'

~~ A few hours later ~~

Everyone set their tents and Clemont prepared dinner

"Wow this food looks great dude" Gary said as he began to eat

"Clemont is a very good cook" Serena said finally speaking up

"You have been quiet today" Ash said as he sat down in-between her and Gary

"Oh it's nothing" Serena responded looking down

Ash gave her a quick worried look but then went back to his usual self and began to eat. Gary saw this interaction and began to have even more questions

"You know... this reminds me of all the times I would see you with those old friends of yours"

"Yea..." Ash said remembering his old adventures and smiled at all the good moments

"So you said you've known Ash for a while?" Bonnie asked Gary

"Since we were little" Gary responded 

"Did you travel with him?" Clemont asked

"Not that much actually... I would only end up meeting him from time to time when I was trying to become a trainer and... I was a little mean"

"A little?" Ash asked sarcastically

"Well I'm a changed man Ashy-boy I promise" Gary said with a smug look

"Wait were you two really not friends?"

Ash and Gary both sighed and sweat dropped remembering their moments of rivalry

"I used to make fun of him but hey it's all good now!" Gary said

Ash was laughing with Gary remembering their childhood. Serena couldn't help but smile a little bit seeing Ash happy
