A few weeks had passed since you arrived at Hogwarts and began teaching. The first year students were rowdy while the seventh year ones were were focused on their very near futures.

"Good morning, everyone." you chimed.

The second years mumbled in response.

"Today we will learn about Dementors" You began. "Can anyone tell me what exactly an Dementor is, or what they can do?"

One hand shot up, a boy with dark brown hair that contrasted his light blue eyes. Philip Greyhorn. He was a bright student, and rivaled first year Hermione Granger in wit and book smarts.

"Mr.Greyhorn." You called the young boy.

"Dementors are primarily known to be guards of the wizard prison, Azkaban." He said.

"Correct, Mr.Greyhorn. 5 Points to Hufflepuff." You said.

"Now, Dementors are horrifying to say the least. If you ever encounter one, which I doubt any of you will, for now I can only tell you to run." You eyed the class as students shifted in their seats, a few taking notes. " They suck the happiness and life out of any living creature. And I mean that quite literally. Its what they feed off of. Which, as Mr. Greyhorn pointed out, is why they guard Azkaban. Sucking any happiness or hope from its prisoners until their unfortunate end."

"I want you all to open you books, and read the few chapters on the Dementors. We will have a test on them Wednesday. " You sat at your desk, watching as the students began flipping through pages and writing in their notebooks.

You graded yesterdays homework assignments for the rest of the class period. Answering any questions the students may have had, or excusing a student for the bathroom. You already had to deduct house points from a Slytherin first year, Royce Littlefinger, as he threw wads of crumpled paper at the girl infront of him, quickly giving him detention after dinner when he talked back. The rest of your classes went by with ease, giving your seventh year students a study period as your class was their last for the day.

You ate dinner in your classroom as you graded papers. The only sound was the ticking of the clock as seconds turned to minutes and minutes to the hour. A knock at your door pulled you from your work.

"Come in." you said, lifting your head to greet your detention given student.

Your eyes widened as you were greeted by not a sorrowful, frustrated student but by the stoic faced Severus Snape. You tilted your head, looking passed Severus' broad shouldered body, wondering if he had escorted Mr. Littlefinger. He did not.

"Miss L/n." Severus said, his voice echoing in the previously silent room.

"Professor Snape. What do I owe the pleasure?"

"Why did you gave Mr.Littlefinger detention, L/n?" He said, his face completely straight as he stared at you.

"He disrupted my classroom and continued to back talk me, giving me attitude." you stated. "Now, Professor, where is he."

"I sent him to his dorm." Severus

"Excuse me?" You stood from your desk, arms crossed. "You did what?"

"Did I not speak clearly enough, L/n? I said, I sent him to bed." He said cool-ly

"Unbelievable." You huffed, walking closer to the unmoving Severus.

"You had no right to undermine my authority." You snapped.

"You failed to inform me that you gave a student of my House detention. I had every authority." Severus replied, his voice a low growl as he spoke.

"Yes, a student of your House, but a student in my class! " You stood your ground as Severus towered over you, his head barely turned down as he stared at you.

"I will deal with Mr. Littlefinger tomorrow, Miss L/n. I sugguest, for any future actions-"

"I, Professor, will give due punishment to any student who disrespects me within these walls." You cut Severus off, your anger beginning to overflow. you took a deep breath in an attempt to supress the urge to smack your collegue.

As if reading your mind, Severus took a few steps back, an eyebrow raised as he watched you. Youd be lying if you said the tension in the room wasnt excruciating. You could almost cut it with butter knife.

"So no, Professor Snape. I will deal with Mr. Littlefinger. Tomorrow." You raised your brows, urging him to say something back.

When he didnt, you scoffed and went back to your desk. "Send Mr. Littlefinger here tomorrow after lunch, Mr.Snape."

Severus didnt say another word as he stormed out of the classtoom, his black robe fluttering behind him as the the door closed. You sighed heavily, exhaling any frustration that was left in your body. you could not believe him! You've only been an teacher here for an week and he was already throwing your respectability and authority out the damn window!

"He was completely out of line, dear" A voice said.

"Thank you Marcus." You nodded to the picture handing behind your desk.
