You sat in the teachers cubical, and waved to your parents as the Hogwarts Express took off. It was going to be a long ride, so you cozied up, wrapping yourself in your new blanket. you started going through materials you would go through for my first classes.

You were pulled from your writing with a soft tapping on your cubical door. An older woman smiled at you, pointing to a trolley of sweets. you smiled, but shook your head. No candies for you today. She nodded politely and continued down the corridor.

"Anything from the trolley dears?" Her voice could be heard saying at every stop.

A few hours had passed and Hogwarts was in sight. the sun had set and the sky outside was clear, and full of shimmering stars. Excitement bubbled inside you as you smiled like a fool. You quickly shut the blinds of the cubical, shielding you from prying eyes as you quickly changed into your first professor-y outfit. You decided to go with a simple dark purple pants-suit and your black robes. you put your hair into a bun just as the train reached the station.

The murmer of students filled the corridors as they all scrambled to get off the train. You smiled at the memories. Getting off the train yourself, you were met by Fergus Filch.

"Evening, Professor." He croaked, petting the cat in his arms.

"Evening, Mr. Filch." You said, gaving the man a half smile.

"Follow me, Professor. I'll be showing you the teachers path." He jabbed a thumb behind him before turning and walking that way.

You followed behind Filch, dragging your luggage behind you. Branches snapped under your feet as you walked down and trail through the woods. Filch would take glances behind him, making sure you were still following behind him. You felt like a student again, following obediently behind a teacher. You smirked at the thought.

As you and Filch reached the end of the path, you stared up at the looming castle above you. Your heart raced with nervousness, and anticipation. Filch opened the door revealing a small room, and motioned for you to go on ahead. You nodded and thanked him before placing your luggage with the rest that were piled in a corner.

You followed Filch once more through the room and down a small hallway. He opened the room, revealing the great hall. You were standing at the teachers table, looking at the still empty great hall. Your attention was diverted as Dumbledore placed a hand on your shoulder.

"Y/n." He said, a smile seen behind his white beard.

"Headmaster, hello." You smiled in return, taking his outreached hand.

"Thank you for owling back so quickly." He walked with you to an empty seat at the end of the table. "And of course, welcome back."

"Of course, and thank you, sir." You said as you sat down in the chair.

Students began flooding the once empty great hall, the silent area filled with chatter. You watched at your new pupils sat in their designated house tables. That same nervousness causing your leg to start bouncing. You hadn't realised you were even bouncing it until a voice pulled you from your thoughts.

"Nervous?" They said.

Your head quickly turned to the person sitting beside you. A short man, with a an long grey beard sat beside you.

"A bit," You said. "How are you, Professor Flitwick?"

"Just fine, dear" He smiled.

"Y/n L/n, Good to see you!" The woman sitting beside Professor Flitwick chimed.

"Professor Mcgonnagall!" You beamed, "Good to see you too!"

"Minerva, please. you're not an student anymore, dear." She corrected with a smirk.
