The grass outside, once green and full of life, was now buried underneath inches of snow. The snow its-self danced elegantly down from the light grey Chrsitmas sky, the wind blew gently and nipped at your bare cheeks.

You looked down at the boy walking beside you, his eyes following the frozen flakes as they drifted to the ground. "Im glad you agreed to stay with me during the holiday break, Harry."

"Me too, Professor." Harry smiled up at you, his glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, his smile wide and toothy.

"My parents may go a little over board with the pampering, just so you are aware. " You shot the young boy a playful smirk.

Your parents weren't aware that the famous Harry Potter was staying with you, let alone coming over for Christmas all day. You carried your wrapped gifts in your enchanted purse, smiling and looking forward to the day. You weren't a huge christmas lover by any means, but you did love spending time with your parents and seeing their faces light up, recieving your gifts.

You walked through the door of your parents home, without knocking of 0course, and were immediately wrapped in a large embrace. The smell of fresh pine and saw dust filled your nose, enveloping you in a nature like scent.

"Hello, Father!" You laughed as the man squeezed you tightly. "I cant breath" You said as you pushed away from his hug.

"Happy Christmas, Y/n" Your father beamed as his eyes fell on to yours. "You never wrote, child. Everything at Hogwarts been alright?"

"Yes, yes. Everythings been wonderful there." You grinned, waving your fathers worries away.

He squinted his eyes at you before dropping his gaze on the boy behind you, raising an inquisitive brow. "And who is this?"

You stepped aside, revealing a very awkward Harry. His eyes were glued to his feet, and his face was beat red, either from the cold of the wider air outside, or just pure akwarness. You placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, and gave him a soft, reassuring smile.

"This, is Harry Potter." You introduced. "Hes going to be staying with me during his Holiday vacation."

"Did you just say Harry Potter?" Your mothers shrill voice spoke from the kitchen.

She entered the living area, her face covered in flour and dried batter. Her hair was tied into a messy bun as she cooked robber hearts content, preparing whatever extraordinary feast she had planed.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. L/n." Harry spoke, his voice quiet but polite.

"It is an absolute honour to have you here, Mr.Potter." Your father grinned widely at Harry, barely able to conceal his excitement to have the Boy Who Lived in his home. "I only wish Y/n had told us, we would have prepared."

Your father gave you quick stern look before ushering Harry inside. You chuckled watching the large man guide the wall boy around the house. Youwere beyond happy that you decided on the spur of the moment to have Harry join you.

You knew for an fact that he would be happier here than at the Dursleys, locked away in some small secluded room away from the rest of the family. You thought about all of the actual shit he had to have been through, living with that pathetic excuse of a family. You silently wished you could just keep him here, with you and your family, but you shook that thought from your head. You knew it wouldnt be allowed, given that he is your student and just having him here for Christmas was already a step too far.

You didn't really care, though. You knew he was happier here than he would have been there. That you could easily tell as you watched the young wizard with a smile on your face as he spoke w8th your father. His face was red with embarrassment, clearly still not used to being treated like a celebrity, as your father practically urged Harry to give him his autograph.

"Alright, enough father." You laughed as you pulled the man in to a side hug. "Let Harry settle in first. He's hardly been here all of five minutes and you're suffocating the poor boy."

"Its fine, Professor." Harry gave you a small reassuring smile. "I don't mind. Though it is still a bit odd to me."

"See, Y/n. Its fine." You father waved you off, leaving you to roll your eyes and leave the two boys to themselves.
