Chapter 10: First Red String

/Coraline's POV/

"Nee-san, are you in here?" Chrisa called, knocking on my dorm's door

"Yeah, come in, Chrisa" I said as she slowly opened the door and went in

"Is something the matter, little sis?" I asked, opening my arms so she could cuddle close with me

"I'm just worried, nee-san" Chrisaline answered

"It's about our other ends, isn't it?" I queried as she nodded and buried her head in my chest

"I'm afraid they won't believe us after all we've said, nee-san" Chrisaline spoke up but it was slightly muffled

"I am too, but we just have to trust that they will, right?" I said as I softly caress her hair

"I guess you're right..." Chrisa trailed off

"Hmm... want to cuddle tonight?" I asked as she looked up at me

"Yes, please, Cora-nee" Chrisa said as I nod and fixed our position in my bed

"Goodnight, little sis" I bid, giving a soft kiss on her head

"Goodnight, nee-san" Chrisaline bid, snuggling close to my chest as we drift off to dreamland together

-Next Morning-

"Little sis, it's time to wake up" I softly called, caressing her hair

"Five more minutes, nee-san" Chrisa whined

"We still have classes, remember? Oh, and don't forget, we'll be battling with the gifted for a joint practice" I reminded

"Fine" Chrisa groaned as she reluctantly sat up and left my dorm

"Time to prepare for the day" I sighed, fixing my bed before taking a quick shower

As I was putting my uniform on, a slight pull on my right pinky finger distracted me

"What?" I muttered, hurrying to button up my blouse before putting the beret, taking my bag and leaving the dorm

The red string is still visible, could it mean that my other end already saw his?

I was running to my class in hopes that Mr. Kim is already there so I could ask him about this when I bump into someone the moment I turned a corner

"Ouch..." I muttered, shaking my head

"Hey, are you okay?" A boy's voice asked as a hand appeared in my line of sight

"Y-yeah, I'm okay, I was just rushing to my class 'cause I have something to ask my teacher" I explained, taking his hand as he pulled me up

"Thanks, Aomine-san" I bid with a small bow before running off again

"Eh, what?" I quietly exclaimed as my right pinky was pulled again by the string, not letting me go as far as 5 steps away from where Aomine-san was

"Of course, how dumb could I get" I said, mentally face palming myself

"Aomine-san! Can I see your left pinky finger?" I called, turning back to him

"Uh, sure?" Aomine-san said, holding up his left pinky finger where the string is attached

"Do you know why I can't take off this string?" Aomine-san asked as he tried pulling it off again

"Silly, it's the red string of fate, Aomine-san" I answered, holding up my right pinky for him to see

"Oh, so you're my soul mate then?" Aomine-san asked as I nodded with a small smile

"This string is the one connecting us to each other so it wouldn't be broken easily, of course" I giggled

"Oops, I have to go to class now, see you later, Aomine-san!" I bid, running off once more, luckily the string allowed me to move far again
