You don't trust people. You trust yourself that you'll be able to handle it if they were to betray you.

To me... Trust is a genuine feeling. You can't fake it like some emotion. It's there when there are no ulterior motives you know? No selfish reasons. When they help me with small gestures, lending a hand when I'm at my lowest, lending a shoulder when I cry, lending an ear when I wanna vent... The small things you know? That's trust to me, I think so at least.
Trust is there when they give you your space when you're going through your anti-social phases and when you wanna be left alone, but still never let it ruin your bond. Never let that small break from reality come in between your relationship. It's when being with them makes you feel that everything's normal. It's when you can be brutally honest with each other without hurting one another.
Yeah that's trust to me. A simple feeling that plays a very complex role in any relationship. The most important of them all. But yeah, you trust someone only when you want to trust them. So, if someone breaks your trust, never blame them for what they did. It was all you. You chose to put your trust in them, you weren't forced into it.
