"Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity."

~ Mother Teresa

"Global Human Rights. That is our next step. We are instilling laws and regulations specifically for our human rights. Everyone living in this World has a right to be treated with dignity and equality. Basic freedoms like speech, privacy, health, security, liberty, life, good standard of living, and self-determination will be restored. This time around we won't take these rights for granted, and there will be severe consequences for those who violent them, no matter who you are. Everyone will be held accountable. Our justice system will be for the people and not against them. Everyone will be looked at and treated equally, regardless of who you are, what you look like, or where you come from. If I can promise you one thing it's this: we will never turn a blind eye to injustice ever again."

I end my speech to cheers and applause and step down from the podium. This one is by far our biggest step in rebuilding the World and the hardest. Because this is where we messed up, this is where it all started. Our justice systems were broken, they were designed to protect only the privileged few. Every injustice and crime against humanity that pertained to anyone else, was cast aside.

When we rewrite the rules and appoint new justices, we have to be careful not to fall into the same trap of favoring some and excluding others. At the end of the day, we are all the same. We are all human.

The freedoms that we now offer change everything for everyone. People's lives are no longer dictated or pre-written for them. They get to choose who they want to be, what they want to do, and where they want to go in life. They can practice the religion they choose to practice, pursue their dream career, marry whomever they wish, and determine the direction of their lives.

The issue with freedom is that we cannot have too much of it. Freedom, in more ways than one, is a double-edged sword. Too little of it and you'll live a life of misery and suppression, too much of it and you'll live a careless life without boundaries. There is a precious balance that you have to achieve with freedom, otherwise, the scales will be tipped one way or the other.

"Are you sure about this?" Taika asks.

I nod, "People need rules in their lives to follow and abide by. They simply won't be able to function properly otherwise. If we don't enforce them then who will?"

Leon nods in agreement, "Especially after being under the strict rule of UniFed, giving them too much change and freedom all at once will just overwhelm them."

"There will always be people who will want more," Taika argues.

"Not everyone will agree with everything that we do. We just have to be consistent. Firm with our decisions, but always open for improvement."
