Look at us now

How far we have come

Yet how far behind we still are

Do you see all the blood they have spilled?

Scarlet red decorating their hands like flower petals

Blooming around and around their snow-white skin

Do you see how much pain they have caused the world?

Look at them now

Living, breathing, drinking the dream

Climbing all the mountains and swimming all the oceans

While we torment through our nightmares

Caged in behind the dark foggy swirls of a starless night sky

Look at them now

Standing by in all their freedoms

Knowing that we will never be able to touch them

Or get past the adamant charcoal wall with jagged edges as sharp as spears

Serrated enough to kill and spill our dark liquid that they have come addicted to

So much so it mars their streets and houses like a wildfire

Look at us now

How far we have come

Yet how far behind we still are
