Chapter 1: Tutorial

Rye woke up on a bed he isn't familiar with. His headache is like a hangover from a grand party that he never came on. When his vision gets clear, so does his hearing, he heard too many voices.

"He's awake!" A female asian voice said as some of the unknown individuals came and rushing on his bed.
"Are you alright? Can you talk?" The same voice was heard.
"Feng, step back first, I'll check his vitals and such. I am the doctor here for a reason." A male voice said as he crouched in front of Rye examining his eyes, ears and mouth. "I am Adam the doctor of this crew. We found you unconscious on the Red Forest, we are lucky the Huntress didn't noticed you during our run." Adam said as he examine his arms.

"W-Who are you guys? W-Where am I?" Rye asked as he let Adam take care of his health.

"I am Feng. These are the other 'players' of the Entity's Realm. That is Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Jake, Nea, Laurie, Ace, Bill, David K. Quentin, David T. and Kate. That's Adam, Jeff, Jane, Ash, Nancy, Steve, Yu, Zarina, Cheryl, Élodie, Yun-Jin, Jil and Leon."

"Sup." the blond policeman gave him a nod.

"Seems like you are in good health." Adam stated as he take his medkit and placed it on the desk inside the room.

"You guys need to help this rookie if he got chosen."

"Chosen in-" He was about ask until he saw a red mark on his palm along with Jane, Leon and Meg.

"This mark, indicates that you are chosen." Meg starts explaining. "The entity chose us for to play his game. A game that always repeat and have random killer. I'll help you as much as I can when we started. We have a 12 hours before the entity pull us and place is into his location where there are shit tons of it."

He nodded as Meg explained the far most basic information he needed. The other players had left his room. Meg stood up and sat on his bed.

"This will be your everyday life now. And trust me, you'll get used to it soon."
"Is there anything more I need to learn?"
"Tons more. You hear Adam spoke about the Huntress, right? She is one of the Killers, she can throw hatchets at us, lowering our state by one. But aside from her there are tons more like Trapper, Hag and Oni. They have different powers that can kill us. If they manage to down or injure us enough to the point we are crawling, they can pick us up and hook us on one of the hooks that you will see later on." Meg then opened the cabinet. "Here are the tools or equipment you can use. You can only bring one per game if you got selected again. That is the medkit, to heal one of your teammates during the game. Toolbox, to repair the generators faster. Flashlight, to stun or blind the killer in a short while. As I mentioned we are repairing generators, 5 in total to give power to two of the doors and the hatch, but we can only open the hatch if one of the 4 is remaining. If the door is open the entity will come to play as well. You will see what I mean if we reach that point." She then closed the cabinet and sat on the chair. "And... If we win, we'll get extravagant foods that can feed us, that is if all of us escaped. The less the number escaped the lesser the quality of the food."

"What happens to those who were hooked."

"We got 3 stages of hook. First is the plain hook, where there is a chance that we can escape, but the chances are low, we need to rely on the others to unhook us. Second stage is what we call struggle. If a killer hooked us again, the entity will summon it's claw and tries to kill us. Hold that sharpest piece and push it away as much as you can until we rescue you. The third and last stage, sacrifice. The term of defeat in this game that the entity made." Meg then dusted her clothes. He tapped the cabinet. "Cabinets like this are our allies, we can hide from the killers by using these, but don't rush on hiding in one of them when chasing, the hinges are too loud."

She stood up and went to the door way and looked at Rye.

"See you later, rookie. Your name before I leave."

"Rye. Rye Buenaventura."
