It was Monday morning. Hermione woke up and groaned. She had to go to the Ministry today. She was not looking forward to seeing Draco. Not after the blow-up at his family's home.
Hermione got out of bed and went to go check on her son. He was still sleeping in his bed. She just looked at him for a second. She decided that he wasn't gonna go to school today. He needed a break, especially after the fight with Draco's mother.
She went back to her room and got ready to go to the Ministry. She decided to just wear a nice pair of jeans with a nice, sage green, silk button-up shirt that goes right above her belt line in the front and past her butt in the back. It was quarter sleeved, and it showed her forearms. She went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth and her hair. She did her makeup and then she put her hair into a neat low side ponytail, with neat clean curls; with pieces left out in the front to frame her face.
When she finished getting ready she decided that it was time to go wake up her son. She walked down the hallway and walked into her son's room. To her surprise he was already awake, dressed, and making his bed.
When she walked in Orpheus felt her and turned to her.
"Look mama, I woked up without you!" He said, feeling really excited and accomplished.
Hermione smiled at him -it was a bittersweet moment for her- she went to help him finish making his bed. She crouched down so they were face to face. She smiled again and he smiled back.
"How would you like to come with mummy to a big building to help Uncle Harry?" She said. Orpheus smiled wide, and he nodded his head. "Okay well then you need to finish getting ready and then we will have some breakfast and go," Orpheus nodded again and ran to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
Hermione had had a very long conversation with Orpheus that weekend about magic. She told him everything, that he could understand. And everything that she thought he was ready for. She had sent an owl to Draco to tell him that she told him. She told him not to owl her back and he didn't. She appreciated the fact that he was respecting her wishes.
When Hermione got downstairs and went straight to the pantry to find something quick and easy for her and Orpheus to eat for breakfast, oatmeal she decided and grabbed two packs and went over to the stove to start making it. Her son was then climbing down the stairs and walking into the kitchen.
"We have to eat quickly today, we are already late for the very important thing I have to do today," Hermione said passing Orpheus his bowl of the shared oatmeal.
"Okay, mummy," He said, acknowledging her.
After Breakfast Hermione ran to put her shoes on and Orpheus followed her. They both put their shoes on, Orpheus taking a little longer of course. Hermione grabbed Orpheus's backpack and packed a few things for him to do. She then grabbed her little purse and her wand, she put her wand in her back pocket and walked out the door with her son right behind her.
"Mummy? What's that stick in your pocket for?" Orpheus asked.
"I told you already Pheus, that is my wand. It helps me do magic," Hermione responded opening the car door, and putting her son inside of it locking him in the seatbelt while he sat in his booster seat.
"Can I do magic?" Orpheus asked, looking wide-eyed and curious at his mother. He reminded her of herself at that age, what she could remember from being five years old.
"You can do some, but not a lot because you don't have a wand," Hermione responded, she closed the car door and walked around the car to get to the driver's seat. She sat down and turned the car on. She fixed her mirror and could see her son in it. She smiled, "Are you ready Chicken?" She asked her son, he smiled and nodded. Then she started driving.
