"Mummy!!" The little boy yelled coming out of his bus. Bringing his mother out of her thoughts.

"Hello, Orpheus," She said, smiling down at her son.

She loved her son very much, and every time she looked at him she saw his father. Who she also loved very much.

"Mummy, wook what did in school day day!" Orpheus said, holding up a piece of paper with a art project on it.

She took the piece of paper and looked at it. It was a picture of her and Orpheus. She thought about how his father wasn't in the picture, and he wasn't. But that wasn't his fault. She started to feel guilty and sad, so she looked at her son. Every time she looks at her son, she feels better. Her son was her everything.

"It's lovely Orpheus. We can put it on the icebox when we get home," She said smiling down at her son.

"Yay!" Orpheus said, he was super excited to put his picture on the icebox.

The walk home was silent but eventful. Orpheus was hopping and skipping the whole time, and it just made her giggle and smile.

When they got close to the house Orpheus slowed down so his mother could catch up to him. When she did he grabbed her hand and they both walked in the house together.

When they got in the house, they were both greeted by a very furry orange cat. The cat was rubbing at their feet and purring, knowing that her owners had arrived home.

"Kitty!!" Orpheus yelled, crouching down to pet the cat.

"Orpheus, shoes please," She said to her son, as she was taking off hers, making sure that he remembered the rules.

She grabbed his back pack while he was taking off his shoes, and took it to the kitchen table where he would do his homework. She then went to the pantry to grab her son a snack for him to eat while he did his homework. Peanuts were his favorite, just like his father.

She started remembering how his father would eat peanuts while they would work on homework together in the library. But she was quickly takin out of her thoughts by her son calling her name.

She went to kitchen table and put the snack down next to him. She put her hand on his curly, thick, blonde hair. Then she smiled and kissed his head.

She bent down and grabbed the orange cat that was playing at her feet and went to the sitting room. She had some stuff to do as well for work.

She worked as the manager for a really small diner across the street and around the corner. She loved working there, it was small and always smelled of chocolate chip muffins. Her favorite snack.

When she sat down in one of her arm chairs, she let the cat down on the floor, and grabbed her papers from the coffee table. She was working on her staffs working schedule. She tried to give them times that worked for them and were fair.

After about an hour of working, she heard something come from the front door in her mail slot. She stopped working and got up from her chair. She walked over to her small foyer area and saw a letter on the ground. She knew exactly who it was from, she just crouched down and picked it up. She looked at the letter and started remembering all her friends from school.

"Who it fwom, Mummy!" Orpheus yelled from the kitchen. She was pulled from her thoughts.

"No one, baby!" She yelled back loud even for him to hear.

She walked over to her book self and picked out a book. This book was hallowed out for trinkets and such. But she kept letters in the book, unopened letters that she had been collecting for the past five years. She closed the book and put it back on the book self.
