Hermione day on the edge of her bed staring at the floor. She couldn't stop thinking about the contents of the day before. She agreed to help Harry at the Ministry. She hadn't been there in five years, and she was worried how different it would be. She worried about what people would think about her just showing back up after so long.

"Mummy?" Hermione heard Orpheus say. Orpheus walked over to his mother and grabbed her hand. "Mummy, what wrong? You sad?" He said, genuinely concerned for her. He could feel her anxiety and he didn't like it.

Hermione smiled at her beautiful son and squeezed his hand. She didn't want to worry him, but he was an empath and he could feel her emotions anyways.

"I'm fine love," She said, smiling at her son making sure that he believed her. He didn't but he didn't want to make his mother even more sad. So he smiled and hugged his mother.

"I get ready for school today. It friday mummy, so dat mean tomorrow no school," Orpheus said, trying to act excited about the weekend.

Hermione smiled at her and kissed his forehead. "Go get ready for school baby, mummy needs to get ready for the day," She said, Orpheus smiled and obeyed her.

Hermione got up from her bed and went to her dresser. She grabbed her outfit for the day and quickly changed. Then she went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth and hair.

She couldn't focus on anything. All she could think about was going back to the ministry. Was it really the right choice to go back? Was it worth it? She couldn't think about anything else, other than her son.

"Mummy, we go! We be wate!" Orpheus yelled at his mother. Hermione quickly put her shoes on and walked with Orpheus down to his bus stop. They had made it just in time. They said their goodbyes and Orpheus got on the bus.

After the bus was gone, Hermione started walking to her work. Even tho she was going to the ministry today she still needed to go into work and make sure everything was in order.

When she got there she unlocked the door and went straight to the register. She started doing her counting and she started hearing people come in. Her staff was there and she put the money in the money bag and brought it to the back.

When she got to her office she put the money bag in the safe. When she turned around one of the girls that worked there was at her locker.

"Hey, Margret?" Hermione said, Margret walked over to Hermione and gestured for her to continue. "Can you take floor manager for the day? I have some things to do," The girl nodded and Hermione thanked her.

After a few minutes of making sure everything was in order, she headed back home. She was going to apparate and she was nervous.

She hadn't used magic in so long. And she was nervous that she had forgotten how. She hasn't even thought about using magic in five years. It was all new to her all over again.

When Hermione got to her house she walked in, being greeted by her orange cat, crookshanks.

Hermione set aside the car and went straight to her bookshelf she had in her sitting room. She grabbed a box from the top shelf. She opened to the box and grabbed her wand.

She put it on the top shelf for Orpheus because he likes to grab things. She didn't want him to get a hold of it and accidentally blow something up. Or find out about magic.

Hermione tried really hard to keep Orpheus out of the magic world. She didn't tell him anything about it. Of course she told him stories about her adventures, but that was all they were to him, stories. It wasn't against any of her friends, and she wasn't against magic. She loved magic, with all her heart. But she just loved her son more, and she didn't think that that world that she grew up in was safe for her son to grow up in.
