Hermione was in her office working on the schedules for her employees. She had a pretty calm day and was just waiting for it to be three o'clock so she could see her son.
That was her favorite part of the day. She couldn't wait to see her son everyday after a long day at work. But she remembered that Draco would be joining them today.
She was nervous, to start this new schedule with Draco and Orpheus. She didn't know how Orpheus would react the changing up his schedule.
Hermione had decided to keep it a surprise for Orpheus. She wanted to surprise him with Draco that afternoon.
"Boss" Sierra said, knocking three times on the door frame of Hermione's office. Hermione looked up. "A very tall blonde man is here looking for you,"
Hermione looked at her watch. It was two o'clock already. The day had gone by pretty fast.
Hermione stood up and thanked Sierra. She walked out and saw Draco standing at the counter waiting for her.
"Draco," Hermione said, walking over to him. Draco turned to her and smiled. He loved hearing her voice, it was soft and angelic. "Can i get you something while we wait?" Hermione offered.
"No, thank you," Draco replied, shaking his head.
"We can start walking over to the bus stop at 2:45," Hermione said.
"Okay," Draco said, sitting on one of the barstools.
"I still have work to do, so i'll be in my office if you need anything," Hermione said pointing behind her where the office was. Draco nodded. Hermione went back to her office and started working, every so often looking at Draco making sure that he was okay.
After a while Hermione looked at her watch. 2:40. 'Close enough' She thought. She through on her cardigan, grabbed her belongings, and walked out of her office. Draco was still sitting in the same spot he was before. Only this time he had a newspaper in his hand.
Hermione walked up to him, "Ready to go?" She asked.
"Yes," Draco replied, closing the newspaper and folding it up. He thanked Sierra for the service and wrapped his hand around Hermione's waist again. She didn't mind it this time.
It was a drizzly day, so it was wet and gloomy but not enough for them to use an umbrella.
"So how was work today?" Hermione asked, trying to make small conversation while they walked.
"It was fine," Draco said.
"Anything interesting happen today?"
"No,"
Hermione felt awkward. Her and Draco used to be so close. They used to talk about everything under the sun. But now she feels like he is holding back. Which he was. He was trying to keep his distance from her.
"Can I ask you a question?" Hermione asked, thinking about something.
"Sure,"
"Well, I don't want this to come off as anything, but Harry said that he thinks there might be any death eater activity at the ministry.."
"And you were wondering if I knew anything of it," Draco finished for her. "Mione, you know, more than anyone else, that I have no connection with the death eaters anymore. So even if there was anything going on.."
"You wouldn't know anything," Hermione finished for him. She felt bad for asking, but it was worth a shot. "Sorry, I just thought it would be worth a shot to ask,"
Draco hummed as a response. When they got to the bus stop they both stood by the bike rack. Hermione looked at her watch, 2:45. 'Bloody bus taking forever' she thought.
