Out of nowhere, the door bust open and Dally appeared 

"Come on, Dolly we gotta go" He said grabbing her hand and went down stairs. I followed after them but she stopped at the living room. She looked at everyone.

They held a disappointed expression. Steve had tears in his eyes along with cuts and bruises on his face. He was in the kitchen, leaning against the wall, with his hands in his hair. Soda was next to him patting his back but Steve shook him off. Steve sniffled looking up like he was trying not to cry.

Soda stood there next to him with a glum expression. I've never seen the gang this disappointed. Darry was no where to be seen, probably in his room getting ready for work. But Two-Bit sat on the floor, his beer and chocolate cake untouched. Mickey wasn't on either, he just held his head down. Johnny sat on the couch, fiddling with his fingers quietly.

Dolly walked towards the kitchen. Dally notice she wasn't behind him and looked over at her. "Dolly, what are you doing? Let's go!" Dallas yelled. She looked at him but didn't move

"Dolly, come on, kid. I'm not playing. Come on" He said, She didn't move, just turned her head and looked at Steve.

"No" She said. Dally looked shocked. Not only did she speak, she told Dallas 'No'. Her own brother.

"No?" He said changingly

"You heard me I said No" She talked back and he was shocked. This have the first time she's done that.

"You got some mouth, kid" He pointed at her

"Dally, I want to stay here and your not gonna change my mind" She said sternly, taking a step.

"Fine! Go ahead! Stay, I don't care! But if you get hurt, don't come crying to me!!" He said then walked out the door, slamming it behind him, making Dolly jump.

Tears filled her eyes and she let a few fall down her face. Darry stood up and held his arms out. She walked towards him and laid her head on his chest. Two and Johnny stood up as well and we hugged her gently.

"Dolly..." Steve said in a raspy voice. Everyone stepped away from her and the two had tears in their eyes again. Steve was the first to move and hold her in a tight embrace "I am so sorry, baby. I am so so sorry" He sobbed then kissed her head.
