Chapter 33

Rose knelt before Forth. Her tears didn't stop flowing. Forth stared at her coldly, not at all trying to make her wake from her kneel up.

"Forth, please, for the sake of everything we've been through together in the past, give Stiff a little light. This child will be born without his father and his mother will also leave him soon. Have mercy on this child, Forth."

"What's the past between us, Rose?" asked Forth sarcastically. "The past you engineered with Stiff, only to bring down and maybe even kill me slowly if you only got the chance. I, obviously don't want to remember that kind of past again. That kid? Why should I even think about it? You guys even set me up by using that innocent child and spreading bad gossip about me"

"I love you, Forth. I made a mistake with Stiff, but deep in my little heart I love you very much."

Forth laughed amusedly. "You have a strange way of showing love. You sleep with my brother, steal from me, and even frame me. I'm confused about how you interpret love like that."

Rose wiped the tears angrily and stood up with difficulty. Her distended stomach prevented her from moving. "You've changed, Forth. Did that little slut affect you? A whore disguised as a doctor who also teased Stiff and then dumped him."

"Don't talk about yourself using someone else's name, Rose. Beam came late after all. I knew you and Stiff before him and when he came into my life, it's clear he showed me a better way to love me. Stiff is obsessed with him. and shamelessly begging him. You too, using all my money to make ends meet, pamper yourself, but throw yourself at other men. See, who are you calling a whore here?"

"You don't know what he's been doing, Forth. Stiff is looking into it and you'd be disgusted if you only knew what he was doing."

"I don't care about his past. I just see him now in front of me and it's clear to me that there's nothing wrong with anything he's done. If he had a mistake, it's been paid for by his life which is being threatened by Stiff's actions now. You, just wrongdoing then shamelessly pleading for leniency."

Rose approached Forth and took his hand. She pressed herself against Forth while crying again. "Please, Forth, just this once, at least for me, so I can take care of this innocent child and make amends. Call your lawyer and change your charge against me. Please?"

"Go away, Rose. All my business with you is done. Don't lower yourself any lower than you should be," Forth said coldly. He waved Rose's hand. "You shouldn't have come here. You're disturbing the peace here."

Rose looked at Forth with anger burning in her eyes. "You see, Forth, none of us are ever going to be happy. You think, after what you did to me and Stiff, you can rest easy? Especially that bitch doctor. He doesn't deserve you. unworthy of being together."

"Shut up!" said Forth. He was starting to lose his temper and had to grip his fists tightly to keep his hands from hitting Rose. "Leave, before I call security to kick you into the street. Remember, your movements are being watched and you can't act on your own."

Rose tried to grab Forth's hand, but Forth waved his hand and walked away. Rose lost her balance and fell face down on the floor. She hardened when he felt the impact of his stomach against the floor.

"F-Forth, aah, please, my stomach hurts so bad."

Forth looked at Rose. He approached Rose and helped her get up from the lying position.

Rose winced as she rubbed her sore stomach. "How could you push a pregnant woman, Forth," Rose cried. "You don't seem like a gentleman."

Forth let go of Rose's hand and walked away from her with a chuckle. "I pushed you? You must have lost your mind, Rose."

"You pushed me, Forth," Rose insisted.

"All right, whatever you say. So what do you want? Demand me? How much more do you want to take from me? As Stiff once said, my wealth is limitless. You can do anything to blackmail me, I can spare a little for beggars like you guys and won't go bankrupt at all. Mention your price!"

Rose growled angrily. He leaned on the chair and stood up, looking fine.

Forth looked at Rose with a sneer. He pointed at Rose's stomach with raised eyebrows. "You don't feel sick, do you?"

"If anything happens to my so
child, you will suffer the consequences, Forth. I won't let anyone hurt my child."

Forth tilted his head then smiled broadly. "If you think I care, you're so wrong, Rose."

"Careful, Forth, don't be so arrogant. You never know what will happen next. I'll make sure you and Beam suffer, just like me and Stiff."

Forth folded his arms across his chest and squinted. "Go away, Rose. Don't let me embarrass you here."

Rose hissed and spat at Forth. She turned and walked away, but Forth held her hand and called her name softly. "Rose, wait a minute."

Rose was silent on the spot. Her heart was beating fast. She recognized Forth's gentle tone. She turned around with a hopeful face. Forth might change his mind.

"Yes, Forth?"

Forth pointed at Rose's stomach with a smile. "I think you need to fix your womb before you go, Rose. I'm afraid you'll give birth to your child on the way."

Rose gasped and looked in the direction Forth was pointing. Her face was bright red. The "womb", as Forth put it, had slumped down.
