Chapter 1- Someone Special

Seoul 1:15pm

"Okay Pri... I know! You told me that yesterday, seriously one more reminder and I'll hang up!" Annoyed Jisoo said while talking to the phone with her squeezing the device between her right shoulder and cheeks. She was currently in her office, flipping through documents while marking some with her red pen on hand.

"Mhhmm, yes, I got it, again, seriously" she let out a long sigh as she rolled her eyes as she stopped with what she was doing. "Lalisa Pranpiya, I swear to God I will annoy you 10 times over once you get your flat ass up in here, so you better show up next week or I'll seriously forget why I have you in my life".

She paused as she stood up and walked across her office towards the shelves as she reached for a file.

Just on cue, a soft knock on her door and came peeking in through was Jennie. She sported her gummy smile towards the raven beauty as she slowly eased her way in.

"Okay, as a good and always reliable human that I am, I will take your word for it, even if I have at least 30 percent chance on keeping my hopes up for you, you monkey", she said as she leaned in to side hug her visitor.

Meanwhile, Jennie farrowed her brows upon hearing what the older beauty said. She then made her way to the couch as she laid down her purse and some folders with her as she sipped her iced latte in hand.

She can't help but giggle amusedly on how Jisoo was twirling her hair like a cute schoolgirl who seems to be rather smitten and all giddy while smiling profusely and rolling her eyes countless of times as she looks ahead as if forgetting someone was with her inside the room. Upon hearing the giggle, Jisoo then turned her head towards the couch and that was when she realized that a pair of cat-like eyes were looking at her with a somewhat teasing stare.

"Alright, alright you sweet talker, I just realized I might actually gag right now with your words if I don't know you personally like the way I know the back of my hand. And please, stop with that pouting, I can clearly visualize your mouth sporting a duck butt".

Amused and curious, Jennie gestured to Jisoo to continue while asking her to put it on speaker mode, thinking it was one of her suitors, judging from the way her Unnie was talking with the other person on the line.

Jisoo on the other hand took it as a sign as she spoke, "You know what? hold on". She then pressed the speaker button while she stood in front of Jennie in the couch as she leaned a little closer which Jennie mirrored her actions. Both of them looking intently on the phone. Jennie squinted as if silently asking who-is-this-you-are-talking-to.

It was then Jisoo spoke, "Okay Charmer, what did you say again?". She then looked at Jennie, wiggling her eyebrows while smirking.

The other person on the line spoke, "I said, I wouldn't disappoint my favorite girl by not showing up on her special day. I would not want to miss out on witnessing you achieving yet another recognition. I am nothing but proud of you, my lady." Jisoo then again rolled her eyes for the nth time.

As for Jennie, she felt something weird on her stomach upon hearing the voice from the other line. It was as if she was mesmerized or hypnotized by the sweet and soothing voice she was hearing. It was really weird, as if it felt familiar yet unknown. She listened intently without realizing her smile was getting wider as she felt a certain warmth on her cheeks.

"But of course, meeting your equally gorgeous looking friends and colleagues would be the main reason I'd be there, just so you know" said Pri teasingly.

"Good Lord, you are something else, aren't you?" Jisoo hissed but kept her amused smile on her face upon hearing her friend on the line. A short but loud chuckle was the only response she got from Pri.
