[001] Iguro Obanai

Behind those fake lovely smiles, she hides pain. All those cheerfulness she wants to show was fake. None of those smiles, laughs and energy were real.

It all started when [Random Name] introduced his girlfriend. Well, yeah. You and him were childhood friend. You've been hiding your love towards the guy that can't even notice you.

Today is the fireworks display for the end of your school fest. You've been hiding in the bush, you called [Random Name] so you can confess even though you knew that you'll just receive nothing but rejection. Rejection that will destroy the friendship you two have built.

Unexpectedly, his girlfriend showed up and same as the time the fireworks display began. [Random Name] and his girlfriend started on kissing. Deeper and deeper.

You on the other hand, burst out but someone hugged you from behind and covering your eyes

"Shh. Come on, stop hurting yourself." That certain someone said.

All of sudden, you turned around and hugged that perosn knowing that it was Obanai. A friend of yours since childhood, same as [Random Name]. You cried on the man's chest as the guy rubbed your head and kept on comforting you.

Morning came in, little did you know. All of your classmates knew all of it. Those fake smiles, laughter and everything. While you're in deep thoughts, your classmates were talking about you.

"She's been acting differently lately, it started 3 weeks ago. I hope she'll be back to normal again." Shinobu said.

"I miss her cheerful side, it's like she's the color of Section Hashira in our course. Her being like that leaves us ... Somehow colorless," Mitsuri commented.

"[Random Name], [Name] liked [Random Name] right? I mean maybe she's been hurt because of him having someone else."

[Random Name] then entered the classroom wearing his most cheerful smile and noticed you looking at the window and sighing.

"Good morning [Name], you have a problem?" He asked and you gulped but then was able to get a smile, "N-no, I'm actually feeling good."

"By the way, I've waited for you at the tree but you never showed up." he said and you awkwardly smiled, "S-sorry, something came up that's why I wasn't able to show up. I can't text you since my phone is dead."

"Oh, okay then" he answered. You looked outside again and sighed. He knows something was off but he set it all aside since he knew you can solve your own problem. You're just so..... independent.

The class began and as fast as that, it ended. [Random Name] approached you smiling but you've been in deep thought so you didn't notice him at all.

"Hey, [Name]. Wanna hang out with me? My girlfriend isn't gonna go with me because of her cheer dance practice" he said and grabbed you but on the other hand someone also pulled you as well.

"She's coming with me." someone said and revealed it was Obanai.

Tense started to enter the room. None of the students dared to leave, talk nor move. The tense in the room grew bigger and bigger.

"Don't just pull [Name]," Obanai said and completely pulled you. [Random Name] smirked and crossed his arm, "So? What's wrong with hanging out with someone who liked me?" He asked that made you froze.

Obanai noticed this so he hugged you and held your head and put the other one on your waist.

"What do you think of her? A hoe? A substitute?" Obanai asks in a cold tone. He's throwing the guy those deadly glares of his while [Random Name], he's not bothered at all.

"So? What if it was? Can you do something? Ha? You can't do anything Iguro Obanai! She liked me, so what if I'd go and waste some time with her useless confession?" He said laughing.

You're was now sobbing and Obanai, seeing this made him furious. He breaks the hug and lets Mitsuri and Shinobu hug you.

Obanai started to punch [Random Name] on his face, "I thought you're dense but it turns out that you're the worst!" He yelled.

[Random Name] was able to defense the next attack from Obanai and gave his payback punch in Obanai's face. "I know you liked [Name] but she liked me, what an unrequited love. It isn't even right to call the love triangle since it's only a one sided love." he said.

"Yeah, and I don't even know what [Name] saw on you that make her love you this much!" Obanai exclaimed and kicked [Random Name]

"Why don't you just let [Name] go with me and have fun. I'll make her smile even though I don't want to." He said laughing.

"Right? [Name]!" He said as he grabbed your arm but he was punched by Obanai and held your arm and hid her behind him.

"Don't you ever bring [Name] into your mess." Obanai said.

"Oh yeah?" [Random Name] said and grabbed Obanai's collar and about to punch him when he received a slap.

The commotion stopped seeing you on the center of the two, "Yeah, I must admit. I liked someone who isn't worthy of my affection. What a shame," you said crying facing him and behind you was Obanai.

"Oh? So you admit?" [Random Name] said laughing.

"Yeah but you're the more stupid here [Random name]!" You said wiping her tears, "I have liked you but I won't use myself for your own happiness. I'm not a hoe nor a substitute for your girlfriend. I may act stupid but those were just acting."

"Oh, really? I may be the most stupid but you were the stupidest one." he pointed out.

"By the way, congratulations [Random Name]. I would like to congratulate you for losing me. The reward would be karma, you bitch." You said.

You picked up your bag and ran outside. You stopped running when you got outside the campus premises. She looked at the setting sun.

"Why do I feel numb? Did my tears run out?" You asked looking at the sky.

You played the music of Aimer titled Kataomoi. Meaning, unrequited love.

"What a match for today's genre. A broken day with a heartbreak song," you said and hummed the song.

"[Name]" someone said making you turn yout back and saw Obanai, "Obanai, are you okay? I'm sorry if—" you were stopped when Obanai hugged you.

The numbness of you were feeling disappeared and little by little, tears flowed down. "Obanai!"

"[Name]. Why can't it be me?" Obanai asked that made your heart skip a beat, "Obanai, you know it right? A day isn't enough to move on," you said and the guy broke the hug.

"Then, let me help you out. If you can't do it, I'll do it for you. Please." he begged.

"Okay, but please. Obanai, I don't wanna hurt you." You said.

"I'm fine, I can fall down but I can stand up again. You are so fragile that you need someone to pick you up so you can stand." Obanai said as he kissed your forehead.

"I'll wait but while waiting, I'll do something so waiting won't be that long." he said and smiled.
