Teddy P.O.V
Second year, everyone seemed to live in fear, there was some mysterious thing targeting muggle born wizards, petrifying them. Teddy was also worried for himself and friends.
He could be a muggle born. How could he believe what McGonagall said was true? Did she know his parents? Or maybe his parents were magic. Teddy didn't know what to think. Minnie said they went to Hogwarts, but she could just as easily be lying.
After a particularly nasty trick he had just played on Filtch, turning his cat, Mrs. Norris, pink, Teddy ran laughing down the corridors, pushing past students and teachers as he tried to get away from Filtch who was cursing at him like a sailor.
Teddy reached a hall he didn't recognize, somewhere deep in the castle. He quickly slipped in room. It was abandoned. Except for a strange looking mirror.
Teddy stepped closer. He looked at himself curiously in the mirror. He saw himself looking back. Crazy unruly green hair that he turned back to blue, sharp grey eyes and windblown Hogwarts uniform.
Until he wasn't the only one in the mirror. There were a dog and a wolf looking out at him from the mirror. Teddy quickly checked behind him. No dog or wolf. That's weird.
He looked closer at the dog. It had long and scruffy black hair and grey eyes, it look too smart to be an ordinary dog. And the wolf looked different too, it had a shorter tail and a longer snout and honey brown eyes. These animals looked too intelligent to just be animals.
Teddy shrugged. It was just a weird mirror. And left the room. Filtch was looking elsewhere for him. And besides, he needed to visit Minnie to get his detention. It was worth it.
Ginny was missing. There was blood writing on the wall. Harry was acting weird. The Weaslys were worried out of their minds about Ginny.
Hemionie was petrified by the mysterious offender. Harry, Ron, Lockheart, and Teddy went into the chamber of secrets, Harry got separated from them and next thing they know, they're all in the Hospital Wing. Lockheart had no memory, the people were un-petrified and Harry had killed a basilisk, destroyed Voldemort again and saved Ginny. The basilisk was what was petrifying people.
And it was time for summer again.
Remus P.O.V
Remus stood at the window looking out into the street. He would have to leave again now. He was in an abandoned house that he had used for his transformation. The town would be suspicious. He had to move on.
He turned around and there standing in the room was his old professor, Albus Dumbledore.
Remus raised his eyebrows, he had no respect for this man anymore. Not have what he had allowed to happen.
"What do you want, Dumbledore?" He asked, too tired to deal with him.
"I have come to offer you a teaching position, Remus." Dumbledore said calmly.
Remus snapped his head trying to look at Dumbledore so fast. Teaching at Hogwarts? His mind started to spin. Teddy was at Hogwarts. So was Harry. But he would be a danger.
Remus shook his head sadly "I can't. It'd be too dangerous. I don't want to risk the students and staff."
"We have a potion for that kind of thing, you know. It's called Wolfsbane. It would allow you to keep your mind durning the full moon." Said Dumbledore.
"Yes, I know," Remus strained "But I can't brew it. I don't know how, I'm not good at potions and I can't afford the materials." Remus pushed his hand through his light brown hair, which was now starting to have some white strands.
"I have a potion master who will be helpful for your need of the potion." Dumbledore explained.
"Really? Is Professor Slughorn still teaching?" Remus asked, surprised.
"No, I'm afraid Horace retired long ago. But Professor Snape would be able to brew it for you. I'll make sure of it."
"Snape? Severus Snape?" Remus demanded "No, no. He hates me. I'm sorry Dumbledore, I can't take this job."
"Please," Dumbledore pleaded "I'll keep you safe."
"Safe? What are you talking about? The only thing I am in danger of is the townsfolk discovering me and hunting me down!"
"You don't know..." Dumbledore realized "Have you read the news this morning, Remus?"
"No, why?"
"It's not was it seems," Dumbledore handed Remus a copy of the Daily Prophet.
Remus look at the paper and braced himself agenst the window. Stairing at him up from the paper was Sirius Black, his hair long and messy, this face thin and hollow, and his grey eyes sad. Remus knew those eyes. They didn't belong to a madman.
"He escaped, Remus," Dumbledore said softly "I want you at Hogwarts because you'll be safe there. And you know the Dark Arts, I want you to teach. What do you say?"
Remus's mind was already made up.
"I'll do it." He decided. He would be more use at Hogwarts, where he could keep Teddy and Harry safe.
"You can take the Hogwarts Express on September 1st. I'll see you there," Dumbledore turned to go but then said "And Remus, it'll be good to have you back."
Then he disappeared. Leaving Remus to wonder what his husband might be up to and how he could protect Teddy and Harry.
