"What's Sturmhond's real name?" Alina asked Tamar, "his Ravkan name". "No idea" she replied. "You've never asked?", "why would I ?". "But where in Ravka is he from. Tamar looked up into the sky, "do you want to go another round of sabers?" she asked.

"We should have time to watch she stars. Tamar always changed the subject when Alina brought up Sturmhond. "He didn't just drop out of the sky onto a ship, Tamar, don't you care where he's from.

Tamar picked up the swords and the knives and handed them over to Tolya, who served as the ships masters of arms. "Not particularly. He lets us sail, and lets us fight". "And he doesn't make us dress up in keftas or silk and make us play lapdog," said Tolya. "A sorry lapdog you'd make," laughed Tamar.

"Anything's better than following that monster in black" Tolya grumbled. "You have something against keftas?" you asked, sitting down with Mal, "roughspun is much better for combat. Plus, we dont look like we're with the darkling" he replied.

"But you follow Sturmhonds orders" said Alina, "only when he feels like it". Alina jumped. Sturmhond was standing right behind her. Tamar laughed, she and Tolya finished stowing the rest of the weapons. "If you want to know something about me, lovely, as you need to do is ask" he said.

"I'm just curious as to where you're from" she said defensively. "Thats all". Mal saw Strumhonds gaze flick from you, to him, and Alina. He wanted to test his patience and see how far he'd go. Mal threw his arm around your shoulder and pulled you closer into him.

Sturmhond balled his fists but hid them inside of hit coat. "Where are you from?" he asked Alina, "Keramzin. You know that". "Where you from?" he asked once more. Alina remembered all about her little life back at the orphanage.

She thought of where she had been before that but it all came to a blur. "Nowhere" she said, "the village I was born in was too small to be worth a name.

Now, what about you, Sturmhond? Where did you come from?" a massive grin appeared on the privateer's face, "my mother is an oyster" he said with a wink. "And I'm the pearl". You let out a small laugh and Sturmhonds cheeks went a soft pink. He strolled away while whistling an off key tune.

Time skip-

Two nights later Alina was woken up by Tamar. "Time to go" she said, "now?" Alina rasped. "What time is it?". "Coming on three bells, now quickly". "Where are we?" she asked, "fifteen miles off the coast of West Ravka.

Come on, Sturmhond is waiting. Alina quickly pulled up from her hammock and pulled on her boots since she had no belongings.

She checked the pocket of her coat to make sure she had her book and followed Tamar out the door. One the deck, Mal stood bu the starboard rail with the other crewmen.

Alina noticed someone else standing next to him and quickly walked over. Alina saw someone else wearing Sturmhonds coat. It was privyet, she wouldn't have noticed if Sturmhond was shouting out orders.

"What's happening?" Alina asked Mal, "we're going ashore" he replied. "Whos this?" she asked. "It's y/n" Mal replied, "where's your kefta?". "The fabrikator changed it so I wouldn't be killed. Plus, Sturmhond took it from me when I fell asleep, so I had no say" you replied. "Why are we going ashore in the middle of the night?" she asked, "the Volkvony will raise my colors near the Fjerdan coast" said Sturmhond.

"The darkling doesn't need to know that you're back on Ravkan soil just yet". Mal pulled Alina close to him and they began to talk. You wrapped your scarf around your neck and head, pulling it up to cover the bottom half of your face.

As Mal bent down to kiss me Sturmhond shouted in the darkness. "Can we get to cuddling later? I want us ashore before dawn". You quickly pulled Sturmhond down by the collar of his new coat and placed your lips on his.
