Iwaizumi jolted awake when he heard a low creak from the staircase. He stood up and clutched onto his sword, his senses heightened at a potential threat. He scanned the area and noticed Kunimi staring out the window as he was stationed right by Mei's door.
"Kunimi..." Iwaizumi called out, grabbing his attention.
"Yes, captain?" He stood up slowly.
"Did you hear something, just now?" Iwaizumi asked.
"No... It's been pretty quiet so far..." Kunimi replied, "Oikawa-san passed out a few minutes ago after drinking four bottles of alcohol..."
"Right..." Iwaizumi sighed as his eyebrows furrowed, "Stay here and guard the princess. I'm going downstairs to check if everything's okay."
"... What about Mei-san?" He cleared his throat.
"I'll get Kageyama up here with you," Iwaizumi stated, "I trust you both."
"Yes, captain."
As Kunimi stationed himself in between the outside of Kana and Mei's room, Iwaizumi sauntered down the stairs to check on his guards and the suspicious creak he heard. The noise could've been due to anything but he had to make sure, just in case. He scanned the first floor - Hinata was snoring on the plushy chair, Oikawa was passed out on the kitchen table, and Kageyama was reading a book beside the front door.
"Kageyama, where's Kyotani?" Iwaizumi inquired.
"Went to pee outside or something." He shrugged as he returned his attention to the book.
"Go upstairs with Kunimi and guard the princess," Iwaizumi murmured, "Do not leave her door, understand?"
"... Why? What's happening?" Kageyama placed the book down worriedly, "Are we under attack?"
"No... I'm just being cautious." He spoke calmly.
Kageyama nodded and jogged up the stairs to join Kunimi. Meanwhile, Iwaizumi inspected the living room, the fireplace, the bathroom, and even the front yard of the inn. There was nothing out of the ordinary but he couldn't shake off the odd feeling that they were being watched. Maybe he was just being paranoid.
