When they arrived back at Nyreum, the capital city of Pieta, Iwaizumi was treated by the herbalist doctor, Shimizu Kiyoko, at the palace. Kana insisted that he take a few days off to recover faster but he stubbornly refused to - instead, he had his treatments in increments and slept only a few hours a day just in case she needed him. He stayed by her side as much as he could which made her feel safe but concerned for his well-being at the same time.
"Your highness, there is something I have to discuss with you..." Iwaizumi cleared his throat.
"Yes?"
Currently, the two were strolling around the corridors of the palace, on their way to the library to meet with Kozume Kenma, one of the most intelligent minds in Pieta. He had many roles - he was a strategist, an investigator, an advisor, and more, and he was highly respected in the kingdom.
"I have arranged an investigation regarding your attempted assassination a few nights before..." He murmured, avoiding her gaze, "The assailant wore a necklace with an owl crest on it. As you know, that crest is associated with the Alistela Empire..."
"So you think that the person who tried to kill me is from there?" Kana pursed her lips together.
"Perhaps..." He nodded, "Nevertheless, it's a lead. I contacted a friend of the King there and he has allowed for Oikawa and I to visit."
"Alright..." She mumbled, "Thank you for letting me know."
"Is something the matter, princess?" Iwaizumi knitted his eyebrows in concern.
"It's nothing... It's just... I thought you weren't supposed to leave my side..." Kana smiled softly, causing him to hastily look away.
"Do not worry, as you'll be safe here in the palace..." He assured her, "While Oikawa and I are gone, Kageyama will be in charge of protecting you, along with Hinata, Kunimi, and Kyotani. They will not leave your side."
"That's not the point..." Kana shook her head, "It's..."
