chapter 23

Me and Winke walked inside the hospital and asked for Mitch's room. The girl behind the desc told us the way and we walked over there. Right when we arrived Jerome walked out of the room. 

"H...How is he?" I asked on the verge of tears. He sights.

"He's very weak but alive and he will stay that way." I sighted.

"He's been asking for you." He told me.

"He's awake?" He nodded and I slowly opend the door I walked in and saw Mitch laying on the bed hooked up to all sorts of machines and wires. He looked in my direction and smiled when he saw me.

"Hey babe." He said softly. I started crying. He opend his arms for me to lay in. I ran at him and hugged him tight. Still sobbing. 

"Shhh, it's alright. Don't cry baby girl." He said rubbing my back gently and wiping away my tears. 

"I should be comforting you." I said inbetween sobs and a chuckle. He smiled at me. As I wiped away the tears and took a deep breath.

"I'm just so happy you're alive." I say genty stroking his hair. He took my hand in his and intertwined our fingers. 

"You'll need more to keep me away from you then just one jealous guy." I chuckled and moved over to kiss his lips. He smiled when I pulled away.

"You need to sleep Mitch." 

"But I just got you back." He said tucking a string of hair behind my ear.

"I won't leave your side. I promise." I said and kissed his forehead. He nodded and scooted over a bit and guestured for me to lay next to him. I layed down next to him and he pulled me against him so that my head layed on his chest. 

"You need to rest aswell." He said in my hair. I smiled against his chest and placed a soft kiss on it. 

"I love you." He told me and kissed my forehead.

"I love you too." After that his breathing turned even indicating he was asleep. I just layed there on his chest listening to his steady heart beat. 

"I don't know what I would have done if I lost you." I wispered to myselve. I cuddled more into him and eventually fell asleep aswell.
