Second Chances

chapter 8

Shai's POV
"Theo I don't think I can jump any longer" I said
"It's fine you wanna take a break?" He asks
I don't know what to say, so I just say yes and make my way to the exit.
"I'm gonna run to the bathroom. Okay." I say
"Okay." He says quoting my second favorite book.
I walk to the bathroom trying to avoid
Jacob at all cost. I look to my left and see him standing by the bathroom door. I try to walk around him but instead he grabs my wrist and pulls me into the back closet.
"What do you want." I ask hoping he won't hurt me this time
"You." He says
He leans in and tried to kiss me. I push him away and reach for my phone, but it's not in my pocket. I scream for Theo knowing he can't hear me. I sit on the floor and wait until he will leave, but he doesn't. I know that once I have been gone for a few minutes Theo will look for me, so I wait.
I hear a knock on the bathroom door and a very familiar voice. "Shai are you in there are you okay?"
I scream "Theo!" Until I hear the knob turning.
"Shai?" He opens the door and sees me. He looks over and sees Jacob and I can see his jaw tighten since he knows what happened. "Shai are you okay?"
"Yes" I say in response
I know he is waiting for me so I stand up trying to walk but a big hand grabs me and hold me back.
"LET GO OF HER!" Theo screams
Jacob drops my hand and pushes me away. Theo grabs him by his shirt and pushes him against the wall. He punches him with Jacob failing to punch him back. I watched as Jacob fell to the floor and Theo came to stand by my side. I stood up slowly and gave Theo a hug.
"Don't ever come near her again!" He said
I grab his hand and run to the car, grabbing my phone and shoes on the way there. I hop in the car and place my head in my hands. I start crying, but I don't want Theo to know.
When he gets in the car be can already tell I was crying and he moves over to my side of the car. He picks me up and places me in his lap. I put my head in his shoulder and cry harder. We don't say anything. We just sit there for hours until we see Jacob walk over to his car and leave.
That's when I look at him and he kisses me.
"Theo your dating Ruth." I say
"Oh, yeah, it's hard to remember that when I'm with you." He says
We sit there in silence until I drift off and he drives us to his house and lays me on the couch.
