Day 40
Yoongi's Pov
I was off of work.
I was chilling on a park bench, a cigarette in my mouth as I stared at a bunch of kids from a faraway distance playing basketball. It reminded me of the good old days when I was playing. During games the adrenaline rush blocked everything else. No relationships, no dad, no bruises, no Jimin.
Thinking about it left a bitter taste in my mouth, which made me spit out the cigarette and stomp on it.
I was ready to get up and leave before I spotted someone off in the distance jogging towards me.
Park Jimin.
"Hey Yoongi!"
I nod up at him, not really wanting to start a conversation. He didn't seem out of breath, sitting down next to me with a bright smile like he didn't just run across a football field to reach me."So, about last night...."
My head already started to hurt just thinking about it. He probably saw the wince on my face, making a grin slip past his regretful stare."I'm so sorry. We just got shit faced drunk and then there's the fact that you don't know us that well, that probably made you uncomfortable huh?"
Definitely.I nodded, my eyes traveling back to the kids playing basketball. He must've caught my gaze since his eyebrow perked up.
"You play?" I shook my head again. What a waste of talent Yoongi......"I used to." Surprised at my sudden vocalization, Jimin looked at me slightly shocked. I chuckled, my fingers twitching for another cigarette. I balled my hand up into a fist and shoved it inside my hoodie pocket.
"Was the best of the best. I could've became a profesional." I had a faraway look my eyes, thinking back on how much I was praised for my talent. I almost started to tear up.
Suck a fucking waste.
"What stopped that?" My leg started to bounce up and down. I didn't want to smoke in front of Jimin. But I needed to....."Everything. Even though I was the best my life was shit. It prevented me from doing what I was best at." And me wanting to give it up because of all the pressure......
At this point Jimin probably thought I was some thug who was around gangs, drugs, and guns as a child.
From his expression, I was right. I grinned, feeling like my mind was going haywire."Don't give me that look ok? I wasn't getting chased by cops or selling drugs as a teen."
"But Taehyung said......." My twitching stop. Not once during this entire conversation have I looked at Jimin, yet I could feel his stare piercing through the side of my head.
"I was doing that when I wasn't a kid Jimin. Besides, I quit that already." Just another minute, another minute and I'll light one...
"But don't you think that stuff is dangerous? I mean-" I cut him off with my stare. I leaned forward in his face, inwardly smirking as he backed up a little with an alarmed expression.
My hand was beside his waist on the bench, my other hand next to his head. Only inches apart, I speak in a softer but sharp tone.
"Aren't you a little too old to be asking strangers about their business?"
Jimin gulped, clearly not knowing how to form the right words."That's what I thought."
I stood up, completely done with this conversation. Jimin just sat there, eyes wide as he watched me walk away from him.Out of sight, I pulled out a cigarette.
I really need to quit.
