Chapter 16- The calm before the storm.
Pulling my duffle bag over my shoulder, I picked up a smaller, lighter box and walked up the marbled stair case leading to the front door. A man in a black suit opened the door from the other side and held it open for me and Alan while some others walked outside to grab the remaining boxes off the floor at the bottom of the stairs. I stepped into the main hall and put the box down waiting for Alan to direct me to my room. He caught up to me carrying three boxes at once and nodded towards a stair case on the right.
"Go up there and it should be the fifth door on the right if I am correct." He said, cheerily. I followed orders and walked up the stairs and down the hallway with him slowly following behind me. We got to the door and I placed down the box to the side and opened the door. Stepping inside with the box in hand for the last time I couldn't help but gawk at the sight. A four post bed sit on the right side of the room up against the wall with a large set of Chester draws on the left side and a bed side cabinet on the right. Opposite the bed was a large mahogany wardrobe towering over me and was big enough to home a great dane. I opened the doors to the wardrobe and the amount of clothes that could be stored in there was three times the amount of clothes I actually had. In the back left corner of the room sat a dressing table with bulbs around the mirror and draws within the desk. 'Well at least I had a place to store my mass amount of make-up' I thought.
"A-alan, this is...breath taking; you didn't have to do all this for me. I would have been fine with a single bed and definitely a smaller wardrobe but I am grateful for this." I admitted to him.
"Becca, you are deserving of this room, what you have been put through is proof enough that you need to be well cared for and loved and that is the reason as to why I gave you this room and offered you to stay in my household. Becca you need this and I am glad you are grateful as there is plenty more from where this came." He said with a little chuckle. I blushed lightly and hid my face away from him. His henchmen brought in the boxes and left without uttering a single word to him nor me.
"Alan, what exactly are those men?"
"They are my security and they help out around the house and tend to help me out quite a bit when I need it. I suppose you could say they are butlers but not completely." He said with a cheeky smile. I couldn't help but giggle at the thought of Alan having butlers though I wouldn't be surprised if he did to be honest. "Well I will leave you to un pack. Have fun my dear and I will see you soon. If you want me I will be in the music room downstairs. You should be able to find it quite easily." With that he left the room and closed the door behind him. Before I set to work the door opened again and Alan pocked his head back through the door."Becca, you also have an en suite bathroom through that door." He said pointing at the door next to the little dressing table. I didn't even notice it was there. I nodded and said my thanks and he disappeared again. I sighed and picked up a box that had a little bit of writing on it that said 'posters'. I really didn't want to go hunt down a henchmen nor Alan to go put this in the loft so I slid the box underneath the bed as it was thin enough but either way was still over flowing with posters. I emptied my clothing box into the wardrobe and put all my make-up and other girly essentials on the dressing table and my bathroom bits in the en suite. I placed my duffle bag on the bed and headed for the music room. But before I left I entered my bathroom and brushed my hair and made sure I looked half decent before seeing Alan. I suppose I have all the more reason to look good now I live with him.
After prettying myself up I left my room and made my way to the music room. I got half way down the stair case before stopping and listened to the soothing music I could hear being played. It was on the piano I know that much though the song remained a mystery to me. I just stood there for a moment or two with my eyes closed taking in the sheer calmness of his house and the beautiful music. I could definitely get used to being here and couldn't wait to find out what Alan's life style was like without the hassle of the press 24/7. Though now that I am here I guess people will be intrigued to find this new person in Alan's household-if anyone saw us on the way in that is. I finally got out of my melodic trance and headed for the door. I lightly turned the handle and pushed the door open.
