Kong was slowly walking towards the camp and the wild man was just behind his heals.

"Well, we're finally here," Kong said to himself.

The man has followed him dutifully the entire way, his fingers still held by kong

Pulling the radio out from his bag, kong flipped the switch on and listened to it buzzing.

The man jumps beside him at the sound of the radio coming to life, the odd hissing coming from his lips again.

"Hey, it's alright. It won't hurt you."

He quieted down, though still glares at the radio.

"Roger.... this is Kong "

Kong listened, waiting for him to respond.

"Are you close by?"

Roger's voice rung from the radio.

The man leaned closer to kong, confusion written all over his face.

"Yes, we're about a 100 meters away"

"Alright, I'll be there soon,"

Roger said before the radio went dead.

After returning the radio to his back pack, Kong handed his last piece of chocolate to the man and watched as he munched it happily.

****************

Roger called out to them from a distance, the man's response was immediate. He grabbed kong around the waist and pulled him underneath his crouched form, once again growling furiously.

Roger came to a stop and lowered himself on his knees, making himself less threatening.
Him and kong, both started speaking to the wild man in a soft tone, and to their great surprise, he begans to calm down quickly. He must remembered Roger, hopefully that's a good omen.

The man moved to sit next to kong, becoming docile. Kong felt slightly guilty, knowing he will be drugged soon.

Roger finally reached to them and showed kong the syringe. He nodded slightly, letting him know he is ready. Kong reached for the man's hand, trying to draw his attention away from Roger. To his relief, it worked. He begans tracing patterns on Kong's palm again, ignoring Roger as he inched closer.

Roger readied the needle, and, striking fast, he sunk the sharp metal into the man's arm.

Kong expected the man to lash out in anger at Roger, but instead he lets out a strangled cry and scoots closer to kong. He layed his head in Kong's lap, curled his lean frame around him and begans to cry.

Kong looked up at Roger, completely baffled. Roger merely shrugged and turned his attention to calling for help on the radio.

Kong did the only thing he could thought of, he placed his hand gently on the man's tangled hair, stroking it softly. This seems to calm him and his crying lessens. His tears have made tracks down his face, allowing kong to see his pale skin beneath the grime. He dragged a finger along one of the tear tracks, following its path down his face.
