A Long Road Ahead

Chapter 18

After hiding about ten granola bars and a reusable filtering water bottle under my clothes, swimsult, deodorant, moisturizer,and sunscreen, I zip up my bag.

"Do you have everything?" I ask my boyfriend.

"Yes, Chloe, how much do you think I need?" He asks me.

"More than what you have, all you have is a swimsuit, and that is pretty much it." I point out.

Today is a random Wednesday in early July, so we decided it was the perfect day to go to an amusement park. Although that does mean it is barely morning, as the dive is about three hours, and we want to get there at ten when it opens.

I am just tagging along, it is really a trip between Massi and his friend's, but they also invited me. Devon has to work, so it is just Jason, Damon, Travis, Bryan, Massi, and then me. If Devon was able to come, I probably would not have come, seven is a lot to fit in the car, and an amusement park is not the best place to have an uneven amount of people, as most things are split into pairs.

Travis has the biggest vehicle, so that is the one we are taking on the trip.

As much as I want to think today is going to be super fun, I also know that I will be playing the mom for a lot of it.

Luckily, I am a morning person, so I have no problem with being up and getting ready this early.

We are the last ones being picked up, so we still have plenty of time to get ready.

I go back and forth trying to figure out what to wear for the day. I consider putting on my swimsuit and using that as a bra and underwear, but in the end, I decide that I want a sports bra, as roller coasters can be a bit rough.

I put on a scoop neck sports bra that has two straps crossing in the back, and then a cropped black ribbed scoop neck top to pair with light wash mom shorts. Sneakers don't match my outfit too well, but I need my feet for work, so wear them anyway.

I double check my bag, just to make sure I have everything. I have sunscreen, deodorant, moisturizer, lotion, sunglasses, contact stuff, my glasses, and clothes. My swimsuit is basic black bottoms that tie on each side, and a black top that has underwire, and it ties around the neck and clasps in the back, it is in a scoop neck style, but it is a very deep scoop neck, so I am hoping I don't fall out of it, but I think I will be fine, it doesn't really move at all when it is on.

I also have a pair of comfortable shorts and a shirt to wear on the way home. I am also bringing a hoodie, but that can stay in the car, because it takes up so much room. And it's going to be warm today.

Massi wears a basic shirt and some shorts, nothing special.

He watches me as I brush my hair into a ponytail and add a hair tie.

"Are you ready?" He asks me, wrapping his arms around me and resting his chin on my shoulder.

"Almost, but they aren't even close to being here yet." I remind him and his impatience.

"Does that mean we have time to go into our room and-" he starts to say.

"No." I cut him off.

"Can I at least kiss you?" He asks me.

Right then, both our phones go off, it is Travis saying he is just leaving his house, meaning he still has to go get Jason, Bryan, and Damon before coming to get us.

"Not for too long." I tell Massi, we have some time, but not much.

He doesn't hesitate to grab my hand and pull me out of the bathroom and into the hallway, he then pulls me close to him and kisses me. My arms wrap around his neck as his arms hold my hips.
