they say there's a rise after a downfall,

and every action has its own price,

but what happens when everything is burnt to ashes?

the world around you has been destroyed,

by the very people you called your own.

you knew they were bad,

that, they would do anything,

even if it came down to killing you,

just because they say they're your "well-wishers",

but would never ask what are your wishes.

go one step against them,

and they'd make sure you never breathe again,

don't you dare walk wrong,

they'd scream,

do anything they can,

to make you lose yourselves.

everyone tells you about downfalls,

but no one tells you about those rebuilds,

where you kneel to your knees

and attend your own funeral,

while caressing the hair of the 'you'

that you lost fighting a battle

its interesting right?

when you wish to live for yourself,

it's directly against someone

who wishes they had your strength,

to fight against the odds of life,

to reach that shore

where there's a treasure

of everything the world has to offer.

// i stand at my own funeral today, relishing on the last bits of memories and hopes my old self gave me. it's time to move ahead but its just so hard.

A/N: this poetry is supposed to be metaphorical of the idea of life, death, rebirth, rebuilding yourself and freedom. this marks one of the final letters/tales/poetry of this work, and as much as i am sad while bidding this farewell, i know i have to. i would never be able to weave the words that are as heart warming and beautiful. coldness wraps its arms around me as the last flicker of flames has rose to the night sky.

my hands are scarred. scarred with the murder of a soul who lived forever. yes, the same person you grew so close and warm to, has turned cold today; circumstances change people, don't they? i wish i could preserve the part of her who made me who i am today, but i know i cannot. its time that i look ahead. towards the horizon, always :)

 towards the horizon, always :)
