Ryo wakes up relatively late and shivering.

He's frantic as soon as he glances at the clock, he has a lecture soon- he hasn't been late to a class since 7th grade!

As he tugs on a pair of jeans, he wonders where the fuck Shinnosuke was and why the fuck he hadn't woken him up.

Why hadn't he woken up anyways? He had an obnoxious alarm clock that was pre-set for every day except his days off of both school and work.

He scrambles out of his room, tugging on his school bag and coat as he rushes out the apartment. Upon reaching the sidewalk, he sees Shinnosuke and Haru outside, building a snowman.

Shinnosuke looks up and over, he grins as soon as he sees Ryo, "Ryo! Come and play with us!"

Confused, he says, "Haru what the fuck are you doing out here playing in the snow? Don't you have a class to be attending?"

Haru rolls his eyes, "it's a snow day! No classes for today! Now get your ass over here!"

Tiredly, Ryo huffs, "no, if it's a snow day I'm not wasting it playing in the freezing bitch that is the cold." He folds his arms, "have fun getting sick."

Shinnosuke rolls his eyes, he bends down and gathers a clump of snow with his bare hand, which Ryo just winces at the sight of, he stands back up, preparing to launch the ball of snow -snowball if you will- at Ryo.

"Shin- don't you fucking dare throw that snowball- goddamn it!" snow clumps fall down his coat and down his shirt, he turns around, and heads back into their apartment, both too cold and exhausted to deal with whatever antics the two were up to.

As Ryo fumes away, probably to go take a warm bath, Haru turns to Shinnosuke and says, "he looks angry," as if Shinnosuke hadn't noticed, "maybe you should go apologize."

Shinnosuke sighs, "yeah, I will. Were you going over to Kambe's?"

Haru flushes, "well, no, but if you need me to, I can. I'd rather not be here while you guys fuck again."

Shinnosuke makes a face, "we're not gonna- I don't roll that way, if I'm going to be sorry, it won't be through fucking."

Haru huffs, "do you want me to stay home?"

He shrugs, "your choice, I was just going to suggest maybe smuggling food from their kitchen, all the restaurants around the area are closed and we're low on groceries," he explains, "and I just thought you would because the heater broke down, that's all."

Haru winces, "yeah I'll pick up some leftovers for today."

Ryo steps out of the tub, shivering as he wraps himself in a fluffy towel.

He gets dressed in a hoodie and sweats. He puts his towel and dirty clothes in the hamper, walking out the bathroom to the smell of something sweet.

The apartment is unreasonably cold today, and it's really starting to piss him off.

Never one to slack off, even on his free days, he pulls out his laptop and textbook. He settles at his desk in his own room, trying to emphasize to Shinnosuke that he was not happy with that morning's rude awakening.

There's a knock at his door, and he already knows it's pointless to ignore it because Shinnosuke barges in anyways every time, regardless of the answer.

But he doesn't come barging in. There's just another knock, a little softer this time. With a sigh, Ryo calls him in.

He watches his sandy blonde boyfriend stand there, a tacky 'cat mom' mug in hand, he offers a smile despite Ryo's permanent-seeming scowl. He saunters over to Ryo's desk, setting the mug down on the desk.

"Are you mad at me?" He asks, his easy-going smile still ever-so present.

"Mad? No," Ryo answers, "annoyed? Duh."

Shinnosuke grins, "that's better than I expected if I'm being honest," he responds, a quiet giggle following after, "that aside, leave studying be and spend time with me!"

"Shin-,"

"You study enough! Take a break! Today's the perfect excuse to snuggle up and watch shitty movies," he says, "besides, you can afford a little slacking, my boyfriend is sooo smart!" He exaggerates with a wide and proud grin, blinking coyly at Ryo.

Ryo huffs, "well...,"

"C'mon! Please?" He pulls out the puppy eyes, everyone knows Ryo's weak to puppy eyes. Especially Shinnosuke's puppy eyes.

"You dirty cheater! You know I can't handle puppy eyes!" Ryo cries.

"So??? Are we going to snuggle on the couch to preserve body heat or am I going to have to freeze to death, alone and cold-,"

"If you shut up and give me a kiss, maybe I'll consider it." Ryo decides, and Shinnosuke is immediately on him, kissing him softly and pulling him close to his chest.

Ryo pulls away, grinning like the love-struck idiot he is, "go get the blankets and I'll set up the movies."

"Aye aye cap'n!" Shinnosuke says with a short laugh, running off to find the fluffiest blankets that the household owned.

Ryo sips the hot chocolate, warming his chest briefly before a stronger warmth floods him as he sees his boyfriend piling the couch with blankets.

True to his word, he sets up Netflix, scrolling through their options before settling on a crappy-looking movie.

Shinnosuke brings them microwaved breakfast sandwiches, he sets his cup and plate on the cardboard box that they claimed to be a coffee table, he sits down, bringing another blanket over his shoulders, holding it open for Ryo.

Ryo sits beside him, and Shinnosuke wraps the blanket snuggly around them.

"Why's it so cold in here?" Ryo asks, "and did you shut off my alarm today?"

"Hm? Oh, yeah that was me, when Haru got the news that classes were canceled he told me to shut it off so he could sleep a little longer," he explains, "and the heater broke down last night."

Ryo frowns and sighs, "do we know when it's getting fixed?"

Shinnosuke chuckles, "not anytime soon, the landlord said she couldn't do anything until the weather stops being violent, and if we try to do anything ourselves, it'll break down again because of all the apartments raising the heat, trust me, me and Haru tried last night."

"What a pain," Ryo grumbles, he leans in on Shinnosuke, claiming his shoulder as a pillow, "I guess we're stuck like this until the heater gets fixed then."

With a grin, Shinnosuke responds, "what a damn shame."
