Chapter 4 The Oak tree

TIM POV: It's now the beginning of October, and i just heard when my first football practice is starting! But then, I realized that Joshua was on the team too. He is so full of himself. I was in my last period, which is Math. Audrey sits right in front of me. So now it looks like i actually give a crap about what the teacher is saying. Once in a while i'll tap her on shoulder and smile and she would smile back. Class was finally over and it was time to go to lunch. (Thank God)

I saw Audrey walk in, I was about to go up to her but then I saw that Josh and her were talking. I was pretty disappointed. I was about to ask her to sit with me but I figured that Josh has already asked her, so I just backed away.

AUDREY POV:

I left class and Josh came up to me, and smacked my butt again and laughed. I told him to never do it again. He just kept talking to me about things, i didn't pay attention at all. He finally asked me if I wanted to go to the movies with him. I dodged him immediately, and walked away. I wanted to catch up to Tim.

TIM POV:

I was so angry at Joshua because he knew i liked Audrey and i don't want anyone or anything ruin our friendship. Not that he was my friend because we are total opposites. I felt someone tap my shoulder. My normal reflex was to turn around, but i had a feeling that is was Audrey so I didn't turn around. She then came face to face with me and asked if anything was bothering me.

Audrey: Tim, are you ok?

Me: yes i'm fine. I need to go find my table.

She asked if she could sit at my table, I said she could if she wanted to. She followed me to the first lunch line, and I turned around and asked why she wanted to sit with me, if Josh asked her to sit with him most likely. She then said "Tim why are you so tense right now, before in class you were smiling at me every two seconds and now you barely even talking to me."

"Why don't you ask Joshua why I am not talking to you?" I
Said.

"Why are you saying this stuff, I don't talk to him at all. And why would you care?" She asked

"I see the way he looks at you, and ever since 7 grade he could ask any girl out and she would say yes." I said

"But i'm not any kind of girl, i'm me. I don't like him at all, he's too much of a jock for me," She said. I then smiled and walked back to my table.

AUDREY POV:

When I walked into the cafeteria, I saw Tim and wanted to go ask him if I could sit with him, and he just completely ignored me. I felt bad, I didn't know what i did for him to be ignoring me. I followed him to the lunch room and asked him if anything was wrong. He kept bringing up Joshua. I don't like him, at all he's to annoying and snobby for me. And besides I like Tim. He has been basically my only friend besides my friend Sarah. He's so sweet and kind to me, he seems too perfect for me.

It was the end of lunch for us, and I was in the hall way talking to Tim when Sarah walked up to me. "So your the famous Tim that Audrey always talks about?" She said

I blushed and so did he, then he said "I guess i am"and looked at me, he then smiled at her.

She asked him if he was single, and i could feel tension coming up my spine, did she really just ask the guy I like if he was single? She know's i like him to.

"Yes i am" he answered

She then walked away because she got to the bathroom.

Tim and i were walking home from school, i still can't believe Sarah asked him that. We walked by a big oak tree and he asked if i wanted to climb to the top of the tree with him. He looked really anxious to do it, so i said yes. He pulled me up with him and we just sat there together talking for what felt like a couple of minutes but really it was 4:00 and we got to this oak tree at 2:50. It was just perfect, us sitting here getting to know more about each other, and i just found out that he made the football team! I was so happy for him so i hugged him. I felt like he didn't want a hug so i pulled away quickly and felt a little embarrassed but then he held me after i tried to pull away. It felt like heaven just laying there. I felt like i had to mention Sarah because she practically just asked him out.
