It was fun.
Everyone has their intimate moments. I held Binnie's hands all this time I went back to our table and watched the rest of our classmates dance. We were both eating and resting, he danced with a lot of people while I played up the stage, we're both in need of recharging before we even get to spend a dance with each other.
This is a lovely night, I know his shadow, it loomed over the table as Chan approached us. We are just eating at the corner on this wonderful evening. He took a glance at me first and then at Changbin. It was solemn.
Even some of our classmates sitting near us stood up and left.
"May I ask Jisung for a dance?" He said, extending his hands, with lowered head, asking for me yet his eyes is on Changbin, almost asking his permission instead of mines.
Like, I mentioned before, I haven't danced with anyone yet. I was pre-occupied after the strayers set, I have them taken care of first, make sure to get their table and food.
Chan patiently waited for a response.
"Do you want to?" Changbin cleared his throat and turned to me. He's sitting crossed-legged, eating our lasagna shared on one plate.
I opened my mouth, not to speak but to get a bite and he just fed me a spoonful, I shook my head subtly, nodding.
"Alright."
He turned to Chan, "Don't do anything, funny. Chan-Hyung. Return him."
Chan just pursed his lips and tucked it in for an acknowledging smile and nodded.
I got up from my seat. Even the loud sound seemed so quiet. I reached for Channi-hyung's extended hands.
I touched his slender and long fingers. It stings and burns.
I ached to hold his hand. We took our time to get to the crowded dancefloor, making sure to make way for me. Everybody was swaying gently to the slow rhythm.
We faced each other as we came to a halt. A few people noticed us, I, for sure was once the talk of the town for various reasons. Yet, it didn't matter at the time, the lights are dimmed, and we are enveloped in the crowd. Almost everyone knew now that I'm gay and the youngest of 3racha, best friend of Chan.
That's right.
He wore an all-white, This man never strayed away from black. So it was quite shocking, I would be lying if I said he doesn't look stunning at all.
"Hi, Jisung. Thanks for letting me have this dance." He bowed.
He's as dreamy as he always was.
"Hello, Chan-Hyung, it's not like we haven't seen each other in the recording studio last week?" I chortled, his actions easily makes me laugh. He's very animated at times, even if I'm used to it, it seemed like my reactions stay the same.
"You look extremely lovely tonight, butterfly." He said his compliments, as he went closer.
I put my hands on his shoulders as he cautiously placed his on the sides of my waist.
"Thank you. You too, Chan-Hyung.~" I hummed sweetly in reflex with the word butterfly, I missed hearing his compliments, that same voice that used to whisper sugar in my ears. I was too accustomed to Chan. He got me used to his very existence.
The same entity that built my entirety, the man that once swept me off my feet, not noticing that we're now swaying with me on melodic tunes. I caught a glimpse of his face as the neon disco light flashed.
He has always been a man of many faces.
"Stop frowning they'll give you wrinkles, Where's your date? one might get weirded out seeing you dance with me." I looked around as I told him.
"I don't have a date and I don't mind, I should've done that long ago." He leaned closer, whispering, bumping our foreheads.
My breath hitched at the contact.
"Right," I answered right back in a mumble.
"We're not exactly, strangers."
"Right." I nodded once again.
To break the awkward dead air. I couldn't completely wrap my head around the fact that I was dancing with my ex.
"You have always been my first." I giggled.
I felt his body pause, taken aback for a split second, I'm not exactly my unguarded, and only that I have this lax attitude.
"You and Changbin, haven't danced yet?"
"Well, I was performing and we're hungry." I tried lightening the tension, and ease my stomach getting turned and tied in all sorts of knots.
"The night is long. Binnie and I have a lot of time together, unlike the others that we can only spend here for a few." I told him.
