He felt stuck. Something warm was latched onto him, making his body heavy. Mekhi groaned before reaching down to his torso, finding a small pair of arms. He glanced back to find Kit sound asleep behind him and smiled. At least he knew one of the guys were alright.
The sun shown into an unfamiliar room. One larger than the chambers at Amiire's castle and much more modern, telling Mekhi they were in Molton territory. But the places they were used to were remarkably small. The room they were in alone seemed big enough for the president.
"Hey. Kit, wake up," he whispered, shaking his shoulder. Kit squinted up at Mekhi before rubbing his eyes.
"Mekhi? What happened?"
"I don't know. I think we might be at one of Zyair's places."
"If only."
The two glanced up to find Zyair perched on one of the high-hanging hammocks. His gaze scanning the room.
"It'd take a lot of sex to score a place like this. Especially in the Molton region. We're one hell of a greedy race."
"Zy? What happened? Who's place is this?"
With no response, Zyair leaped from his spot in the hammock onto the ground before jerking his head, gesturing for the two to follow.
They walked out to find a double-storied living room below. A black and brown comfort Mekhi was familiar with. Have I been here before?
Four chimneys were implanted into grey, brick pillars stacked to the roof. A rope bridge crossing along the railings of the second floor. Zyair led Mekhi and Kit to the backyard where they appeared to be on a mountain. A platform of a field poked out the side where they found the rest of the guys training.
From Mekhi's perspective, they all were quickly growing in their skills. They were paired off into teams of three as they versed each other. Nikaelis and Ralyks practiced their newly inapt powers against each other.
Ralyks shot around whips of flames as Nikaelis dodged them on his skates. What caught Mekhi's attention was the fact he was blindfolded. That, and Jasp and Amiire were nowhere in sight. He had no idea why they all decided to train nor where their new skills were coming from. At least until he found Rea standing next to a familiar face. Mekhi and Kit's eyes widened before they darted down the mountain.
"Vince!" They both called as Vince turned to them. They tackled the man to the ground before he rolled back up to his feet, keeping the two in a tight embrace.
"Mekhi. Kit. Thank god you're okay."
"We're okay?! Where've you been?" Mekhi asked as they pulled away.
Scanning the man now, he found Vince dressed in complete Molton attire. Tight, black jeans paired with a white turtleneck tank top. A dark jacket with a golden zipper slid off his bare shoulders.
"You've been here for awhile, haven't you?"
"Only for a couple days. I've been trying to find you boys but lost your scent during the day. At night, I knew you were at the castle and in between, you traveled through the woods. That's where I met your friend, Zyair."
"What about Yama? Did you ever find him?"
"I scavenged through the Sanloft and his lab. Even the Ultome region to see if Gavlen had taken him. I'm sorry, but I couldn't find him."
Mekhi and Kit glanced to each other, sadly. Yama was the first adult Mekhi was comfortable talking to. One he never had to argue with. Now he had no clue if Yama was even alive or not. At least Vince was.
