My last name is Washington so I just knew I was going to be one of the last people to audition. Just my luck. I want to get this over with so I can go home and take a nap. Anyways, since I knew I was going to be stuck here for the rest of eternity, oops, sorry I meant auditions, I rarely paid attention and instead focused on my homework. However, there were a couple of times that I did pay attention and that was only when things were interesting.
During Brayanna Jenkins's audition, she tried to do an ariel (a cartwheel with no hands) and fell flat on her face. The whole gym was doubling over with laughter, but she carried on with a red, embarrassed face. I had the decency to hold in my chuckle. Yes, it was funny, but if a lot of these jerks were in her shoes, they would've run off crying. She carried on and that was pretty cool of her. Plus, 34 million people just watched her face-plant. That's humiliating enough. I was tempted to clap for her, but then I was reminded of that time she threw my clothes in a running sink and I held it back.
When Nick's name was called, Chloe suddenly looked up from her computer, embarrassed for no reason, and then glared at our school's handsome playboy. I was baffled. What is up with my friends today? First, we have Ariel spacing out with some complex expression on her face and now we have Chloe glaring? Is there a drug around here? Am I going crazy too? To be fair, she has been crabby since she stepped foot in here so maybe there isn't a drug...maybe. She then picked up her phone for a good 15 seconds and then threw it right back down, her mouth twisted in a grimace. That's when she caught me staring.
"What?" she asked.
"N-Nothing," I stuttered. I hurriedly grabbed my phone and watched her look at me as if I was on drugs. Pretending to be nonchalant, I scrolled through the comments.
Natelovesme: Um...why he is so hot though?
Apollosmine8763: Black hair, blue eyes, is he from some anime or something?
user2489275: I like him, he's mine.
Is this what Chloe is pissed about? Some fangirls? I really had no idea so I just ignored it and put all my energy into finishing my homework.
Everyone was excited to see Faith go up. Why? Probably because she's pretty. But behind that pretty face is a whole lot of ugly. No offense to her or anything, but my neighborhood squirrel has a better personality. Ridiculous, snickering mutt. I'll admit though, she danced decently for her audition. She has a side category in Dance so I'm not really surprised. She's just an elite so everyone cares. In fact, most of the elites did okay. Nothing special, easily forgettable, but not horrendous. Every elite besides Aisha. She was just a mess.
However, I really think that Alex shined in her audition. She was breathtaking. I bet she was at the top of their list. I even shouted, "Woo! Yes, Ms. Queen!" Even though Winter had told us to stay away from Alex, my girl was killing it and I wasn't going to keep quiet. What I didn't expect was the camera panning towards me. Panicked, I searched my head for an appropriate reaction. Own the camera you idiot, the voice inside my head screamed at me. Right, having the fans' support was a big part of this. So I gave the camera a wide smile and a thumbs up. The fans really ate that up.
IheartEmily858: Aww! She's so pretty!
Apollonoticed!: We love a supportive friend
BlingIt!4523: She's so cute!
I continued to read comments after Alex was finished. The audience clapped and cheered. I mean, it was probably the best audition so far. She was just amazing. Technique? Flawless. Expressions? On point. Wig? Snatched. Hotel? Trivago. Alex was practically born to dance. Alex turned red from all the attention and rushed back to her seat. It's hard for me to believe that my childhood bestfriend who would complain if she got a blue rubber ducky instead of a yellow one just did that dance. We really did grow up, didn't we? Maybe a little too much.
Around 30 minutes later....
Man, all I want to do is go home and sleep. We're almost finished with Dance auditions, the longest of 3. SO WHY IS IT TAKING THEM SO LONG?
Chloe, Winter, and I already finished ours. If I do say so myself, I think we did pretty well. Winter was for sure one of those who stood out, like Dean and Nessa. Chloe did very well too. She really put her all in that dance. But I think I did the best, haha. Just saying. I'm pretty sure all 3 of us gave the judges a good impression. As a bonus, we were fan favorites and we also got premium glares from CeCe's group. We must've done well then! The rest of my friend group didn't stand out very much, which I'm pretty sure they were all upset about. But that's just how these things work.
They were finally done 7 minutes later. Now here is what we've been waiting for. It's time for the most dreaded part of tonight:
Elimination.
