When I got to school, I immediately spotted my friend group. They were loud, stylish, and had a wide arc of space between them and the rest of the students. I got off my bike, locked it on the gate, and made my way over there. As usual, the majority of them ignored me.

"Um, hey guys," I said in a feeble attempt to get them to notice me.

"Oh yeah, hey Alex," Fath said and went right back to talking to Aisha.

"Good morning, CeCe," I said to Celia or CeCe. She didn't even acknowledge me as she continued to rant about the Advanced Rap teacher, Mrs. Night. She's in the Rap Category. I internally sighed. I knew it was a long shot.

"Alex! Hey!" Mia said. Mia is literally the only one who will talk to me without needing something in the friend group. She's one of my closest friends.

'What's up?" I asked.

"The sky," she giggled. I glared at her but joined in.

"Well, to be honest, Dean walked me home from school last night," she confessed. Dean is her long time crush. They have an off and on friendship/relationship.

"Really? That's awesome!" I exclaimed.

"Shh, he's coming now with -ooo- your boyfriend!" she whispered. I plastered a smile on my face. Might as well be happy for her.

Sean is my boyfriend. He has brown hair, light skin, and green eyes. He's also the quarterback of the football team and he's in the singing category. You would think I'd be happy to date him. You're wrong.

Dean, on the other hand, has dirty-blonde hair, brown eyes, and he's really pale. You think Edward Cullen is pale? Wait until you meet Dean. He's the wide receiver of the football team and he's in the dance category. Mia is head over heels for him.

I felt my body tense as Sean and Dean get closer.

"Hey babe," Seah said.

"Uh, hey," I replied nervously. He leaned down for a kiss and I instinctively flinched.

"Relax," he ordered quietly. I obeyed immediately and allowed a quick kiss. When he slid his arm around my waist, I felt like a cold snake was trying to strangle me.

"Aw, you two are so cute!" Mia gushed. I forced myself not to shudder and the corners of my mouth went up like someone was pulling them up.

"Mhm, I'm super lucky to have a boyfriend like him," I said emphasizing the super lucky part. Sean picked up on my hint of sarcasm and gave me the quickest, most vicious side glare. I felt myself shrink back. Quickly and slyly, he reached under my shirt and pinched my hip. Not hard, but it conveyed the message: Shut. Your. Mouth.

"Hm, you guys aren't as cute as us though," Dean said as he swung his arm over Mia's shoulder. I thought Mia was going to die from happiness.

"Oh, we're an us thing now?" Mia said nonchalantly.

"We will be," Dean said with a wink.

I made a face at his cringey lines. I was about to make some kind of witty response when she got out of her car.
