Serena's P.O.V.
At first, I did not expect the trip to Victoria to go smoothly, but surprisingly, by the time the sun set the next day, we were about 2 hours away from reaching our first destination. "Alright, ladies. We're going to take a quick stop at the station for more gas. You can get out and get some more snacks if you want," Mr. Edgar said as he pulled into the gas station a few feet away from one of the pumps. "Come on, Serena! Let's go!" T.J. said, grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the exit.
The store was smaller than the ones back in LA. But they still had the same kind of candy I liked. I grabbed a few boxes of the Mikes and Ikes, as well as starbursts and a large bottle of Sprite. Not the healthiest, but thank god for my metabolism. "Mom would kill me if she saw what I'm getting!" T.J. joked as she placed about half a dozen skittle bags and soda on the counter. "You ladies planning on getting diabetes?" The female clerk asked as she rang us up.
"Not necessarily. We're just girls who want to have fun while they're on a trip," I said, hiding the detail I was on tour. The clerk looked outside, eyeing the tour bus. She said nothing but nodded her head as she continued to ring us up. "Alright, that's going to $20.43," She said. T.J reached into her pocket, pulling out a few dollar bills. "It's okay, I'll get it," I reached into my purse, pulling out the cash, and handed it to the clerk. She smiled at us and bagged our stuff, handing back a small amount of change.
Back on the road, we pigged out on our food, taking occasional pictures for our Instagram stories, and as we were about to take another photo, I got a FaceTime call from Aidan. "Hey bubs!" I answered as T.J. waved to him. "Hey girls, still on the road?" he asked. "Yeah, but we're getting close. Hopefully, we'll reach Victoria soon," T.J. answered.
The look on Aidan's face suddenly went from lighthearted to serious when I asked him how he was doing, and he asked if we could talk privately. "Yeah. Just give me a second," I answered, standing up and walking towards the bathroom, and shutting the door behind me. "What's going on?" I asked, setting the phone against the sink. Aidan held up a brown packaging box, and from the looks of it, it was full of chocolate as well as red rose petals.
"A package came in yesterday in your name. Did you happen to order anything before you left?" Aidan questioned. Off the top of my head, I didn't remember ordering fancy chocolates. "No, I don't recall ordering anything. Maybe it was a wrong address?" Aidan shook his head, holding his phone at a certain angle so I could see that the address was indeed our hotel room and my name was on it. "This is just weird. I've never gotten packages like this," Aidan let out a breath. "I know. What should we do with it?" I asked, feeling more and more perplexed as the conversation went on.
"We'll figure it out when you get back. If we get any more strange packages, I'll let you know," Aidan swore. We talked for a while longer, trying to get our minds off this package. But the thought of who might've sent something like that kept the wheels in my head turning. Was someone trying to be nice sending us gifts? Or is it some weird pervert or stalker? "Well, I gotta go. We're grabbing Veggie Grill for dinner. I'll text you," Aidan said, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"O-okay, talk to you then. Love you," I blew a kiss before turning off the call and going back to the booth, sitting across from T.J. "What was that about?" she asked, taking a handful of skittles. "Some weird package came to our room, but I'm sure it's nothing," I shrugged, hoping that it was indeed nothing.
After finishing off a third bag of skittles, I grabbed my guitar from my case and started practicing. This tour was going to be a little different than the usual ones. Usually, musicians would play some of their old music on tour, bringing back the nostalgia. Not only was I going to do that for my tour, but I was going to perform a few covers at the concert, including the song that started it all.
"So, how is this going to work exactly? Am I going to be in the crowd watching you, or am I going to be backstage?" T.J. asked, climbing up the ladder to my bunk. "I'm glad you asked because I got you some backstage access, courtesy of my manager," I smiled. T.J's eye lit up like a firecracker, and she started grinning from ear to ear, explaining to me that she had never attended a concert with backstage access.
"Well, now you'll get to experience that!" We embraced each other for a moment before I went back to practicing my guitar. As I softly sang some of my songs, T.J joined in, and I watch as she continued to belt out my lyrics like a Rockstar. A buzzing noise came from the front, and we went up there, curious to know what was going on. "Don't be alarmed, ladies. Nothing's wrong," Mr. Edgar assured, making me let out a sigh of relief.
We watched on as he continued driving, admiring the dark shadows of the trees and headlights of the other cars, until we reached a highway. A sign on the right side of the road said, "Welcome to Victoria, Canada," in bright white lettering. "We're here! We're finally here!" T.J squealed. "I'll pull into the nearby trailer park when we reach the city, and we'll stop for the night. I'm sure you guys are tired," Mr. Edgar said, smiling at us through his mirror.
"Thanks again, Mr. Edgar," I said before T.J, and I close the curtains to the bunks and got changed. "Goodnight, Serena," T.J said as she climbed into her bunk. "Goodnight, T.J Tomorrow's gonna be a big day," I said back before turning my side and shutting my eyes, waiting for sleep to come cast its spell on me.
