Law's Pov

"Law, how come you're not at work? I know you want to protect me but your patients need you too" Looking down at the girl in my lap I could see a frown gracing her lips but my response only caused it to deepen. "I'm on vacation (Y/n)-ya" Seeing her unhappy was never something I enjoyed however right now I'd have to endure it. "No, you're not" It was my decision not to show up at the clinic since keeping my (Y/n) safe was much more important than seeing patients.

"Don't worry about it so much (Y/n)-ya once this situation is dealt with, I'll return to work" I had some staff members still seeing patients and if that detective decided to show his face I would know immediately. He was becoming a thorn in my side but I could also understand he was only doing his job. "Alright... Hey Law?" Hearing (Y/n) say my name was always appreciated however I didn't like that uncertainty within her voice. "What is it (Y/n)-ya?"

"I think it's going to rain let's go back inside" Hmm, the clouds were becoming darker around the property but I didn't recall the weather channel calling for rain today. "(Y/n)! Long time to see! How have you been!?" I thought he was only arriving after dinner? "Don't touch her Luffy-ya!" This male wasn't the type to be interested in females but I still didn't want him laying a single finger on what belonged to me. "Hmmm, why not? (Y/n) is my friend and I haven't seen her in forever just let me hug her"

(Y/n)'s Pov

Law really was cute when he acted protective over me but this was Luffy and I was sure there were no ill intentions behind wanting a hug. "I said no Luffy-ya" The rain would be here any minute now however if my partner took any longer then we'd end up getting caught in it. "Law hurry up before it starts to rain. I don't want to get wet" I was already trying to move away from his lap though Law only pulled me back down before adjusting his hold so he could lift me instead. "Sorry (Y/n)-ya and remember to keep pressure off that ankle. You're here early but you may come inside as well Luffy-ya just don't cross the line"

"Just what line are you talking about Law? You need to remember that Luffy is my friend so don't be mean to him or else" I didn't want to give Law any kind of punishment but he needed to realize that my friends weren't going to take me away from him unless there was a good reason. "You're such a troublemaker (Y/n)-ya. Do you want anything to eat?" I was full from the breakfast he had made me earlier as well as the many snacks he kept giving me although Law's offer was still nice. "No thanks, Law. I'll be okay until dinner but do you think Yuki is back yet? We still have to finish our board game"

I wasn't interested in the game before however now that I had the time to think it through, I really wanted to play and Yuki needed to be my opponent. "Oh, I saw Yuki on my way up here! She was pacing around at the bottom of the hill and Kidd was just staring at her" Hm, I thought she had gone to pick up Kidd but I guess it didn't take very long. "Can you please bring her back up here Luffy?" She could have been having a life crisis down there, although I was sure she'd just send Luffy away empty-handed if that was the case. "Sure, I'll be right back (Y/n)!"

"Law, why do you think Yuki was pacing?" I knew she had been acting off ever since Law's eyes had flashed red although was that really the cause of her leaving earlier? "That girl has always been strange but don't worry about it (Y/n)-ya. Let's go I can already see the rain closing in on the area and it doesn't look like a little shower either" Law never let me respond before he started walking but that was fine still getting caught in the rain wouldn't have been fun. "Do you think Doflamingo will find us all the way out here?" I noticed saying that man's name made Law upset but instead of taking out his anger on me he remained calm and replied. "It's hard to say (Y/n)-ya. Are you worried about him?"

"Just a little bit. I don't like being kidnapped by random men, Law" The man carrying me might have done the same thing a few weeks ago although since we were now friends it didn't matter. "That's understandable but you're perfectly safe with me (Y/n)-ya" Slowly I started nodding my head but I couldn't believe what he said since Doflamingo had already proved that he wasn't going to go down without a fight. When I noticed Law wasn't moving, I looked back at the door though couldn't figure out why he didn't just go inside the house. "Is something wrong? Why are you not going inside?"
