Law's Pov

Making her cry was never my intention but I thought she deserved to know the truth. I hated that man's guts though she still needed to know the truth about who she was and maybe it would give her some answers about the past. Right now, however, I just wanted to take back what I had said since clearly, I picked the wrong time to bring it up. "I'm sorry (Y/n)-ya I shouldn't have told you that" She had heard me but unfortunately the girl was still hysterical with her tone rising with each word. "H-He's not my father. T-That's not possible my father is in jail. Why are you lying to me!?"

"(Y/n)-ya please I-I'm not lying. I-I remember you. That night I patched you up. Don't you remember?" I was young myself but I never would have made the connection until Cora-san brought it up and even then, I didn't believe she was the same girl from that night so many years ago. That night shouldn't have happened to someone as pure as her though now I had to be the one to put back the broken pieces that remained. I already patched up her physical wounds but the mental ones still remained. "No, I can't remember anything from that night and I don't want to either"

"You have nightmares during the night. Aren't those memories of what happened?" The mind was a peculiar thing but dreams were often based around things that the person saw or experienced in life. "I don't know. Maybe but no one tells me anything. All I know is my mother is gone and the person responsible is going to kill me next!" She was definitely scared and while this was beginning to turn into a therapy session, I needed to direct us back on track before the enemy could locate us. We'd discuss this whole thing at a later date when I had more time to focus on her. "I won't let that happen. We'll deal with Donquixote-ya first then I'll handle everyone else that wishes to hurt you"

"Law i-if Doflamingo is my father d-does that mean I'm the reaso-" She couldn't ever think that night was her fault. Even if she somehow was it's not like she forced that man to take the life of her mother. "No, it's not (Y/n)-ya. You were a child who shouldn't have been put in the middle of that. Sorry, but we need to go. Hold on tight (Y/n)-ya" Her arms did tighten around my neck though when (Y/n) started to speak I knew she was trying to put the puzzle together of who that person was in Donquixote's body. "You know Alice was my mother's name"

Even if that was the same Alice that thing was unearthly and it was best the girl didn't trouble herself with it. "Don't think about that (Y/n)-ya" She understood the request though still continued to speak about other things. "There's something else Law... I heard Doflamingo talking and he said there was a time limit" That could have meant anything but (Y/n) deemed it important enough to bring up. "What kind of time limit?"

"He said time runs out on my eighteenth birthday" That was tomorrow though it was foolish to put faith in such a thing. For all, we knew that was just the time Donquixote gave himself to have his plans finished. "I'm sure that's nothing more than the ramblings of a madman" Donquixote wasn't known for giving up and even if we waited till tomorrow the chances of him just going away were slim. "But what if he's right? We just need to hide out unt-"

"I'm not taking the chance (Y/n)-ya. Please understand that I don't want to put my faith in something that could be false. You're too important and I don't want to lose another person that I love" I was going to put a permanent end to Donquixote so he could never go near what I cared about again. "Law please don't kill him" Looking down at the girl I tried to figure out if she was serious or not but once I determined she was I replied. "I can't promise that (Y/n)-ya" His life would be ended and there was nothing she could say to convince me otherwise. "If what you said is true then you're not allowed to kill my father"

Pushing her probably wasn't the best idea however I needed to convince her this was the only way we could be happy. "He's not a good person and one that deserves to be buried. If I allow him to live, he'd only take you away from me. Can't you understand that?" Explaining how things needed to be weren't going well however in time I was sure she would accept everything. "Neither are you Law but I'm not planning your murder. You might think I'm a pushover although if you kill him, I'll never speak to you again"
