"Rough morning or night?" Katie inquired although she had her suspicions of what the problem could be.
"My self righteous neighbor is causing me a lot of problems," Chace grit out.
He crossed his arms as he sat up straighter now in the chair. Katie took out a comb and began styling his hair.
"Please tell me how your neighbor complicated your life?" She hoped he couldn't see her smirk.
Katie learned a long time ago a stylist also doubles as a therapist when needed.
" Well, Miss Fuddy-Duddy first complicated everything with Meghan if she would of just shut her trap----"
Katie interrupted, "Chace, you know that's not how that went down. I was there. Meghan knew your reputation when you started dating and she is a bright girl. It didn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together and figure out where you were and what your were up to." Katie used her most even keeled tone to speak to him as she greased his hair.
"Sure sure whatever but she could have covered for me though."
" I think her priorities might be a bit different than yours. Like making sure her kid didn't see you in all your glory."
Chace deflated in the chair and then let out a laugh, " Ok fair point but she didn't have to tattle on me about my guests at night."
"Oh yes I heard about those guests," Katie said nonchalantly.
Surprised Chace's eyes widened, "You heard? She told you?"
"Do you think you are the only one who divulges secrets?" Katie smirked. "Yes it's been going on for a few days now and they tried to muster through it but they were exhausted from the lack of sleep."
"Oh I didn't realize it was a problem."
"Listen, I think you two need a truce. She is a great girl and you can be sweet when you want to."
Just then Phoebe walked in for her usual hair and make up while Sophie trailed behind her. When they entered Sophie's eyes were drawn to the Greek god taking up residence in the chair. Sophie hastily remarked that she will be on a run while Katie does her hair. Sophie slammed the door behind her as she left the trailer.
"Wow, first time I have ever seen a woman so repulsed by you she is literally running in the opposite direction," Katie chuckled.
Chace scowled but decided to hold in any snide remarks as Phoebe was leaning on the armchair half asleep while she waited for her turn.
"Mr. Chace are you going stop playing your games at night? It's sooooo loud it wakes me up," Phoebe yawned after.
Katie snickered.
Chace was filled with remorse. A feeling he hadn't felt in a long time as his heart felt heavy. He did the unthinkable for him, "I'm sorry kiddo. I won't be keeping you up late anymore."***
Finally Sophie woke up with Phoebe still in her room and feeling rested. The night had been uneventful, free of moaning and guttural sounds for once. Sophie made sure to wait until she saw Chace leave the hair and make up trailer before she entered. She was trying to limit any unnecessary interactions with him like the day before.
When Sophie entered with Phoebe just after Chace left Katie laughed.
"Are you trying to avoid anyone in particular?"
"Just trying to keep things professional or at least cordial, Katie shrugged.
Katie invited Sophie to the crew's typical Friday night celebration at the karaoke bar in town. Apparently, the crew and actors would head there for a chance to let off some steam.
