✧༺Aurora༻✧Days have passed since the attack and the warriors are in a panic. They feared that the tournament would be even more deadlier so security and daily patrols have been doubled, which is understandable. Even Koda has been a little on edge and everyone knows it obviously. Although he's been trying to act like everything is fine but I can see right through his facade. As for me and Jaxon we haven't been speaking ever since that talk we had at the barrier. Apart of me knew that he was having mixed feelings at the moment but he had to understand that I'm not leaving until this war ends, once and for all.
"Are you okay Aurora?" I snap out of my thoughts and look at the doorway to see Kiara, who was giving me a worried look.
"Y-Yeah," Slight goosebumps runs down my spine,"I'm fine."
"Really? Because you've been tapping your foot anxiously on the floor for the past ten minutes I've been standing here." She points out and my eyes widen.
"You've been here this whole time?" I ask.
"Yup! I guess you were too wrapped up in your thoughts to notice."
"I'm sorry, I just have a lot on my mind I guess."
Kiara nods her head slowly before taking a seat next to me on the bed.
"Everyone is worried about you. The guys especially, so tell me what's going on with you."
"It's nothing important-
"Please don't lie to me." She cuts me off.
"Okay." I sigh,"Harou told me something on the day of the attack and for some strange reason I can't seem to shake it off."
"What did he tell you?"
"Something about my abilities being something more destructive and powerful than most chosen ones."
Kiara furrows her eyebrows in confusion.
"Why the hell would he tell you something like that for?"
I shrug, "Maybe he wanted to scare me or make me lash out in anger."
"Listen," She starts,"Harou is a crazy son of a bitch which is why you can't listen to a thing he says. He knows how strong your abilities are and he'll do anything to get his hands on you." I nod.
"So I should just let this go?"
"Yes, for your sake and everyone who cares about you."
"O-Okay."
"Good. Now let's go on a hunt."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?"
Kiara grabs my hands and practically drags me out the door and to the living room, where all the guys were sitting.
"Hey! She's alive. Now pay up boys." Zach smirks cockily.
"Fuck." Hunter curses as he handed him a twenty.
"Wait...You guys placed a bet on me?"
"Yeah, I told them that you were on your period." Chase sighs.
"Real classy guys." Kiara rolls her eyes.
"Well it's not our fault that she's in her feelings." Zach throws his hands up in the air.
"I'm not in any feelings." I cross my arms in denial.
"Whatever you say princess Leia."
"Anyways, we are about to go hunting so you idiots hold down the fort."
"That wouldn't be wise." Hunter speaks up again.
"And why is that?" I ask him.
"Because it's bear season and they will not hesitate to eat your ass...Well nobody wants to eat you Kiara so go right ahead." The next thing I know Hunter was hit with a salt shaker.
"Fuck! What the hell was that for blondie?"
"For being a asshole."
"I was just joking. Damn, I think you broke my balls."
"We'll be back soon." She grabs my hands once again and leads me out the door.
After a few minutes of walking we stop at a large rock. I give her a confused expression
"I-I thought we were hunting?"
"Nope! Just made an excuse to get away from those wankers and have some girl time." She pulls out a bottle of tequila from behind the rock.
"Please tell me we aren't going to get wasted." I chuckle nervously.
"Drinking helps me clear my head of all things that distract me so maybe it'll do the same for you." Kiara hands me the bottle.
Hesitantly, I take it from her and hold it up to my lips.
"Go on! Down it." She urges.
Without a second thought I start to chug the bottle.
"Holy shit girl! I didn't mean drown yourself in it." Suddenly the bottle is pulled away from me.
I start to cough violently.
"Are you okay?"
Shaking my head I laugh bitterly.
"No Kiara, I'm not okay. In fact I don't think I ever will be until Harou is lying in a puddle of his own blood."
"Aurora-
"I'm so sick of tired of having to be the hero when my own mate doesn't even support me! He only cares about getting back to the pack who barely even noticed me. And now I'm the key to ending this war that could possibly wipe both of us off the face of the earth." I start to feel my hands burn.
"Aurora you have to calm down!"
"You don't tell me what to do!" And before I could process what happened next a burst of fire came out of my hands and directly at Kiara.
I watched in complete as her body flew from where she was sitting and against a tree, falling onto the ground.
"Kiara!" I scream rushing over to her unconscious body.
Blood was gushing from her stomach and mouth. I grab her hand to take her pulse only to find it to be barely there.
"No, no, no, no." I take a deep breath, my mind pleading for my hand to turn yellow.
"I-I need to heal her. Please work." Tears clouded my vision.
Moments passed and nothing seemed to work and I didn't know what else to do but scream.
"HELP!"
