Chapter 26

"Again." Koda commands.

I take a deep breath and swing my arm again at the punching bag.

"Not bad but you're too tense," He tells me,"Relax and focus."

"That's what I'm doing." My fist takes another hit at the bag, causing it to fly back.

"I'm sensing frustration coming from you."

"No shit! I am not at full strength in order to beat Harou and my own mate is having doubts about this entire war so yes Koda, I am fucking frustrated."

"Aurora, I understand the pressure that this war has on you but you must remember that you're not fighting alone, we're all here to help you." I laugh bitterly.

"Really? Then why am I the only one out here training and not inside eating egg rolls with everyone else?" I point out.

"Because this is more important that Chinese cuisine." Sighing, I fall to my knees in exhaustion.

"I'm sorry Koda, I didn't mean to snap at you."

"It's okay warrior Aurora. At scary times like these it's normal to feel overwhelming stress."

"How do you do it?"

"Do what?" He peers down to me.

"Keep calm and act like everything's going to work out fine."

"I've been doing this for centuries, there's nothing that I haven't seen before. I faced many battles without knowing what the outcome would be but sometimes you just have to have faith that everything will work out, even though right now it may seem hopeless."

"So you just hope and pray for the right solution to come?" I tilt my head.

Koda shakes his head.

"When you hit a hard spot in life you have to take a pause and try to think of another way around it. Not all the answers will come right away so I learned instead of forcing the solution it'll happen on it's own." My eyes widen.

"You're right." I whisper.

"About what part?"

"Waiting for the solution to happen."

"I'm not following." His eyebrows furrow in confusion.

"I'll be right back!"

Quickly, I run inside the house and into the kitchen where I knew everyone would be.

"Hey guys." All eyes were on me.

"What's up firecracker? Do you want some of this delicious fried goodness?" Hunter held up his chopstick.

"Drop your fucking egg rolls and listen to me!" I growl.

"Well damn." Chase frowns and Hunter drops his chopsticks.

"I know how we can win this war."

"You do?" The boys ask in unison.

"Yes, we need to divide and conquer." They all tilt their head.

"So you want to take them all down one by one?" Rocky asks.

"Yes. I mean we all saw how powerful they were together last time but if we split them up then we'll have the upper hand."

"Smart." Our eyes divert to Kiara, who was leaning against the door frame.

"Babe? I thought I told you to rest." Hunter immediately stands up and walks over to her.

"I'm fine Hunter."

"We'll you're not taking any part of this so back to the room." He orders her.

"You're crazy if you think I'm letting you all go fight a deranged lunatic by yourselves." She shakes her head.

"But you're not fully healed-

"We're running out of time! One more victory and Harou takes over everything. We'll all need to be together when this shit goes down so I'm coming rather you like it or not." Hunter's eyes widen.

"Okay! Whatever you want babe."

"Good. So Rocky and Chase will take on the male warriors while Hunter distracts the guards."

"And why am I on guard duty?"

"Because I need you to get me inside so I can take on Harou."

"By yourself? Aurora that's suicide and you know it." Zach enters the kitchen with a shocked expression on his face.

"Yes, I'm the one he wants and you know that. Besides if I have back up then the whole plan goes to hell." Zach growls.

"He'll kill you Aurora."

"Then so be it!" I yell.

Everyone's eyes widen at my sudden outburst but I didn't care.

"I'm sorry but I have to do this on my own, without risking your safety."

"You'll die." Chase whispers.

I turn to face him, "Everyone dies Chase. Maybe the only thing that makes it bearable is to find some meaning in it." Kiara nods.

"She's right. I mean all of this sounds insane but Harou is the ring leader and the warriors are his puppets. If we take out the source then all the lights go off." Hunter sighs.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm all for it." I smile.

"How about the rest of you?"

"We're in this together." Chase speaks up.

"Me too." Rocky agrees.

"Zach?"

"Jaxon's going to kill me."

"Great! Now go get your shit together and meet me outside in ten minutes." Nodding, everyone clears out the room.

Harou was about to meet his end.
