Chapter 19
I made a vow to stop being insecure and work on making our relationship better. I know things would not always be perfect but I will just have to learn how to accept the good and bad days. Line was working on his album so he was at the studios a lot, doing shows and promotions. I go with him when I can but it does get tiring sometimes.
Tony and I hardly talk anymore but would hail each other every now and then. The days when I go to the gym he would be at work so I didn't see him either. I got a call from him asking me if we could crab a quick lunch, I was not doing much so I accepted the offer. We met for lunch at our usual spot. I told him I wanted something to do to keep myself busy, he asked what my interest were and I had no clue what I really wanted to do. I told him I was too comfortable where I was, I was not motivated to take on any other task.
"I did love Artist management but that fell through so now I am not sure about if I would do it again" I said.
"Well get someone else to manage then" He said.
"I am not sure, I have a few people reaching out to me and I do have a cousin who is a really good singer" I told him.
"Well Stacy if it's something you love you should go for it" He said.
"You think so?" I asked.
"You're such an intelligent and beautiful woman. Anything you put your mind to, you will be great at it" He said.
"Thank you" I said.
I found myself blushing at his compliments and encouraging words.
Just as we were about to wrap up lunch I noticed a lady walking towards me. She was wearing full black and shades. She was smiling hard as she got closer. I kept looking until I realized It was Miss Lisa, I haven't seen her in a while.
"Stacy baby what you doing out? Never know Chalkline make you leave the house" She said. She gave me a double cheek kiss.
I looked at Tony who looked a little flushed at her remarks. I did not tell him who my man was nor did he asked I just assume that he did his research and decided not to ask.
"Hi Lisa, I'm here having lunch with a business associate" I said.
I directed her to Tony Spade who was a gentleman to get up from his seat and greet her pleasantly with a hand shake.
"Nice, My daughter is here, I took her to get some lunch. She is parking the car" She said.
"Oh she is done with school now?" I asked. I wanted her to leave but I had to be polite.
"She will never be done with school my dear, oh here she comes" She pointed to the girl approaching us.
She was gorgeous, a head full of curly brown hair, long legs, a big bright smile and she was almost perfect looking. I could tell she knew she was the shit too, she commanded attention as she walked over to us.
"Hi" She beamed.
"Ashley this is Stacy, her friend Tony" Miss Lisa introduced us.
She looked at me twice and smile and then shook Tony's hand. Her personality changed after her mother introduced us but I thought it was maybe she knew who I was. We exchange pleasantries then they excuse themselves to be seated at their table. Tony and I decided that it was time for us to leave.
I glanced over at Miss Lisa and Ashley again, she looked like something was bothering her, she was deep into her phone while her mom chatted away. We made eye contact and I waved just to be polite and she smile and waved back. Tony and I parted and I told him I will text him later.
