It was peculiar.
She didn't know what to make of him.
He was different. All rational thoughts fled when she saw him. Conversation became a necessity. She felt that she became a cheesy, weird person.
She didn't know.
But for once, she didn't mind not knowing.
Nature smiled. She winked at Reality.
His eyes widened. He smiled a shy smile.Maybe, just maybe, this could work.
She and him would converse for an hour via text messages. Sometimes the conversations were just rubbish, just so that they won't have to stop talking.
At least that's how it felt to Alessia.
They'd talk during school.
They'd walk around together - talking about themselves to the other.
It was like they were reacquainting each other with their presence in the other's life.It was like coming home.
He was an antisocial, invisible guy and she was an eccentric idiot - according to society.
Some people will just believe the surface.
He played football and tennis and he was a crazy, happy, funny person.
Everything about him either amused or fascinated her.She felt like he could read her like a book, yet he was intrigued by her.
He would know when something might have been wrong, but he wouldn't pry.
He'd just watch. Concerned.She'd smile.
He'd smile.They had a comfortable relationship.
Alessia had found a soul much suited to her.
He showed her her flaws gently. He showed her that it was okay to be weird and wrong and confused.
She was completely carefree only with him.
He could bring out her various personas and make them harmonize and show her that she was actually very beautiful.
She was ready to hope.
She was ready to care.
She was ready to trust. The question was,
Did he feel it too?
He cared.
That much she knew.
But how did he care?
Did he think of her as the soul he felt the most comfortable with, easing his burdens and being in complete sync?
Did he think of her as a nice soul he'd met on his journey that could listen to him, and be honest?
Did he think of her as a lost soul looking for refuge, solace and protection?
If he thought she'd rely on someone for protection, refuge and pity, he didn't know her truly.
She didn't think that possible.
He might have thought of her as a friend, but then the stray glances every few minutes and the smiles that warmed her didn't make sense.
She felt hope brimming.
It was very possible he cared for her the way she cared for him, but she couldn't go out on a limb on a deduction made away from Logic.
Logic would smirk and walk away when Aaron approached, saying, "This is as far as I can help you. These feelings are Nature's domain."
And Alessia would sigh a resigned sigh and continue doing what she was doing till she reached a definitive analysis on what he was thinking.
Maybe he wasn't thinking. Just the way he was. Maybe a little of him still existed in Aaron.
She was treading deeper water.
