Just past eleven, I come down from the high of seeing my friends and think about the events of tonight. Maddox hasn't tried reaching out to me, nor I to him. As much as I want to be mad that he hasn't tried to talk to me, I'd be a hypocrite to feel that way since I'm doing the exact same thing.

At the next exit, I pull off and park at the nearest gas station. Without the sound of the car running, I'm in silence, and I rest my head against the steering wheel to think.

My body craves for Maddox's touch. To feel his skin against mine and lips moving against my own feels as though it would solve all of our problems. It would in the moment, and that would calm each of us down enough to talk this out without it turning into another fight.

Lifting my head off the steering wheel, I reach for my phone in one of the cup holders and FaceTime Thay, Molly, Vinnie, and Kaitlyn. I turn the overhead light on so they can see my face.

Thay's the first one to join, Molly and Vinnie join at the same time, and Katelyn is the last. She's holding a sheet over her chest, her bare shoulders giving away exactly what she was doing. I don't mean to cock block her or Dax, but I need my best friend right now.

"Harp, what's up?" Vinnie grins. His grin falls once he sees the frown on my face. "You good?"

"No," I say, shaking my head. "Maddox and I got into a fight and I hopped in the car and started driving home. I'm half way there and am starting to think that it wasn't such a good idea."

"You just left?" Molly asks, her kindness being revealed in the tone of her voice. I nod.

"I miss you guys so much, and all I could think about was hanging out with you guys and telling you about it. We could get drunk and eat ice cream and watch Grown Ups or something. I just wanted to be around you guys," I ramble.

"Woah, Harp. One thing at a time. Take a deep breath." Thay and everyone else takes a deep breath with me. "Better?" I nod. "Okay. Start with what the fight was about."

I jump into the story about finding the first arrow this morning so everyone else is caught up to date before diving into what happened after we found the second arrow. When I finish explaining what happened, I say, "Fighting with him felt so different. I've never been one to back down or regret a fight, but I wish this one never happened."

"That's a lot," Molly says softly.

Vinnie nods in agreement, "What do you think would be best? Coming home to see us to give the two of you space or going back home to Maddox?"

I shrug. I don't have the first clue on what the answer to that is.

"Harp, as much as you're going to hate to hear this, Maddox does have a point," Kaitlyn says. "Both of you are responsible for taking care of that entire pack, and you can't be a team if you don't tell him what's going on."

"I know," I sigh, leaning my head back against the headrest. "That's all I've been able to think about for hours now. I know I fucked up, but I'm too stubborn to admit it to him."

"Kinda sounds like you have to," Vinnie says, offering a supportive smile.

I groan, running my hands over my face and through my hair. "I didn't mean for this to happen."

"We know that, Harp," Thay says. "Asides from us, you're not used to protecting the people you love with anyone else. Maddox is your mate, and you two are the leaders of your pack. Of course it's going to take time to get used to sharing everything with him, but if there's a threat right now, it's needed now more than ever."

Good 'ol Thay, always the wisest among us.

"So I should go back and fix things." It's not a question. Honestly, it never was.
