I'm dancing my heart out with Kaitlyn and Molly when a pair of arms snake around my waist. I move to yank myself away from them before recognizing the sudden extra tingles spreading through my body. I'm already feeling light and tingly from the alcohol, but only the touch my mate can make it feel this strong.
I push myself back into his body. "Hey," I giggle, breaking down uncontrollably. Nothing is funny except for how drunk I feel. It's a fan-fucking-tastic feeling.
"Hey baby," Maddox says, planting his lips on my temple for a short and sweet 'hello' kiss. "I missed you," he whispers in my ear. His voice sounds husky, and it's turning me on.
"I missed you too," I admit, turning around in his grip so I'm facing him. "We played Cards Against Humanity earlier, and not to brag, but I won."
"I'm sure you did," he smirks, moving his hands to my lower back.
"What did you do all day?" I ask him, snaking my hands up his chest and around his neck. I pull myself as close to him as I can so our bodies are pressed up against one another.
"I went back to my pack to take care of some work," Maddox responds.
"We're gonna have to go back soon," I state, feeling myself deflate inside as the thought of leaving my friends sinks in once again. "It's going to be so sad. I don't want to leave my friends." I bury my face in Maddox's shoulder so I don't start crying. I don't want to cry right now. It's a party. People don't cry at parties.
"I know you don't want to leave them, baby," Maddox says into my ear, and he starts rubbing a soothing hand up and down my back. "We can come and visit whenever you want, and they are welcome to our pack at any time."
I giggle and pull my head away from his shoulder so I can look him in the eye. "I like that you said our pack. It makes me feel like an equal. I like that. I like that you see my as your equal," I ramble.
I see the way his eyes flicker from the hazel to a darker color, and I giggle again. He's getting turned on just like I am.
"I want you and nobody else as my equal," he says quietly, his voice almost causing my knees to clasp. My level of intoxication has already taken away my stability, and Maddox saying stuff like that in a tone like that is not helping.
"Plus, she would beat your ass if it was anything less," Kaitlyn jumps in, throwing her arms over both of our shoulders. Her cheeks are rosy, her smile is wide, and her once curled hair has been swept up into a ponytail.
"Hell yes I would! No offense baby," I say, and I bust out laughing even though I have no idea what I find so funny.
"Also," Kaitlyn says, pulling our heads in closer and saying in quieter voice, "I can practically smell the sex coming off of both of you, so I think you should probably get home and take care of that."
Maddox's eyes go wide, but I'm not the least bit surprised at Katelyn's words. Instead, I throw my hands up in front of my mouth and gasp. "Oops!"
Katelyn laughs, "Go, get out of here. We'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay, bye! I love you guys!" I say, waving to Kaitlyn and Molly as I head for the kitchen.
I quickly find Vinnie, and Thay to say goodbye, flicking Vinnie off as he wiggles his eyebrows up and down. Our goodbyes are quick because my body is becoming more and more turned on at the fact that Maddox won't keep his hands off of me. It's not in any way sexual, just a hand resting on my hip or an arm over my shoulder, but it's driving me crazy.
I lead Maddox out to the porch, and the second the front door is closed, I'm slammed up against it and his lips are on mine. I press my body to his, almost forgetting that we're out in the open right now. I feel how hard he his against my stomach as I grind against him, and I start to ache for what's to come.
