I was right.

This party is more than a rager.

The inside is so crowded with people that you can't move without shoving them aside. There's not a single open space on the kitchen counter because of how many cans and bottles and red solo cups are crowded on it. All the windows and doors are wide open to let the cool night breeze in, but it still feels like a sauna within the walls of the house. The music playing from the speakers is so loud, the floor is actually vibrating beneath my bare feet.

I can feel sweet pooling in all the crooks of my skin; my armpits, the bends of my elbows, behind my knees. I'm too drunk to care that it dribbles down every so often. I just wipe it away and keep dancing with Molly and Kaitlyn.

I sling my arm around Kaitlyn's shoulder and throw my head back in laughter as the song changes. Molly has her phone out and snaps a picture of the two of us, tucking it away in the back pocket of her shorts before rejoining our dance party.

"We need the have more parties like this!" Kaitlyn yells in my ear. I nod in response, a grin the size of Alaska taking over my face. I don't know why people always compare big things to Texas; Alaska's the biggest state in the country.

"I'm so happy right now!" Molly says over the music, bumping into me.

"Me too! I feel like I could do this forever!" I reply.

Thay comes and joins our little circle, a bottle of something in his hand. "Shots?" he asks us, holding out the bottle. I grab it and put it to my lips, tipping it back and allowing the alcohol to effortlessly slide down my throat.

"Woah there, take it easy babe," Thay laughs, grabbing the bottle and tipping it down.

"Hey!" I pout, jutting out my bottom lip. "I wasn't done!"

"Yes you were, bitch," Kaitlyn grins, swiping the bottle from Thay's hand and taking a long swig. Molly takes it next and tips it back quickly, not lasting nearly as long as Kaitlyn and I did.

"Woah!" she giggles, stumbling backwards. Thay puts a hand on her back to steady her, and once she regains her balance, she grabs onto my hand. "Guys, I just a got a great idea!" she slurs.

"Mols, you always have the best ideas!" Kaitlyn says.

"Guys, let's go outside!" I yell. "I can barely hear you talking!" I don't know if I was too drunk to really hear them or if the music was too loud, but the four of us walked out to the front porch. It was much cooler outside, and it was easier to hear people talking. I could still hear the music rattling through the walls of the house, but it wasn't as bad.

We kick a couple making out off the porch couch, and Kaitlyn and Molly melt into it. Thay leans back against the railing and I stumble into his lap, letting him cradle me into his chest. "You need to shave," I say quietly when I feel his jaw bone scratch against my forehead. I start planting little kisses along it, feeling his body tense up underneath me.

"I forgot what I was doing," Molly sighs.

Kaitlyn says, "The sky is so pretty."

"I want more alcohol," I grin, taking the bottle out of Thay's hand and taking another swig.

"Gimme," Kaitlyn says, sitting up and reaching her hands out. I pass the bottle to her and lean back as she drinks from it, staring up at the sky. I see her pass it to Molly out of the corner of my eye. Thay's hand starts trailing up my thigh, daring to sneak under my skirt.

"I want to go and dance," Molly says, standing up and falling right back down onto the couch. "Oopsies," she giggles, and Thay and I burst out laughing. She grabs onto the arm of the couch and stands up slowly this time. When she lets go of the couch, she stands up and hold our arms out in a T for balance. "Ha! I did it!"
