Chapter Six

Katrina's Pov - 17 Years Old

Cassandra ran towards Alexander and gave him a huge hug.

"I've missed you so much Alex."

Cue eye roll.

"You too little Cassie." He grabbed onto her and gave her a small smile as he messed up her hair.

I'd noticed that he had different smiles. There was a careless one that he gave everyone else and there was one full of care and affection that he reserved for little ol' Cassandra.
Currently I think I was present in the 'everyone else' category but I was going to rectify that. There had only been one time where I had gotten a smile that he'd never given someone. A long time ago on that bridge. It was etched into my memory.
I didn't know what it was but it was different.

He may have had a photographic memory but I didn't need one to memorise every look on his face. I could never stop watching him and it just stuck with me.

I understood that Cassandra and Alexander only had each other. I'd be that way if I had any actual living family that loved me but it was crazy because he was the only one I actually felt like I had, even though I didn't actually have him.

I was a jealous bítch and I didn't care.
I mean, it was him.

I quietly walked away and joined the other girls who were getting ready to go out as I tried to not peek at Alex's figure again.

Stop Katrina for fúck's sake.

One of the dumb groupies who thought she was a popular fashionista started blabbering in a godly high tone.

I tuned her out as I tried to reign in the frustration I felt by rubbing my knuckles across my forehead.

I should just smash my head in.

The only reason that I was even here with them was because Cassandra was the only girl from this group that I could tolerate. There was a party and I didn't say no to parties.

"Alexander is motherfúcking hot. Why aren't the guys that we have around like that?"

"Literally. College guys like him are everything. I'd die for him."

My patience was immediately tested when Megan's stupid mouth opened as she started fanning herself and performing other exaggerated motions that a sane person couldn't name.

"I think I'm gonna try to get with him now that he's here. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't say no to me and can you imagine how big his —"

Oh fúck no.

Like mother like daughter.

I interrupted her and turned towards her with a cruel smile as I laughed condescendingly.

"Megan, have you looked in the mirror lately? I mean I don't know who's been lying to you but you look like a fúcking pig and you stink for god's sake."

I wasn't lying.

Megan's nostrils flared as she glared at me like I'm some kind of pest. She doesn't have the guts though. She's more of a sneaky bitch.

Her eyes immediately turned sad when she realised that everyone was watching her. She sniffled as she looked at me like I stepped on her cat.

"Katrina, why are you being so mean? Did I offend you? Wait do you like him or — "

Oh I knew what she was trying to do.

I interrupted her as I scoffed and patted her head with a threatening step closer.
