Y/n's POV

Auntie Katelyn was letting me help her with the play. I mostly just helped her get papers together. "Thanks Y/n, why don't you see how your mom is doing." Auntie Katelyn said. I nodded and headed upstairs. I walked into mama's room and I saw her on the floor whining. "Mama?" I asked.

"Hi Y/n. What are you doing here?" Mama asked.

"Auntie Katelyn said I should come see you." I said, sitting next to her.

"Why did I agree to this?" Mama asked.

"It's for breadsticks and food." I said.

"I know. I should just ask for my breadsticks now and be done with it." Mama said. Celestia came over and looked like she was ready to play with me. I smiled and started playing with her after a few minutes Zane came over to see mama. I went back downstairs to see auntie Katelyn getting things ready to go. "Alright Y/n, tell Aphmau that I'll be at the community center." She said. I nodded, heading back upstairs to tell mama. "Mama, auntie Katelyn is going to the community center." I said, walking into the room. After a bit of cheering mama up, we headed to the community center. The whole walk to the community center, mama complained about what she was doing. When we got to the community center, mama saw a few people she knew, stopping to talk with them. Once she finished talking with them, we headed to the stage room. I sat next to auntie Katelyn so I could help her if she needed. "Okay, we're going to audition for the part of Romeo first. Then we'll take care of the other parts." Auntie Katelyn said.

Garroth, Laurance, Travis, and Dante were on the stage, waiting to start. "So what's the script like?" Dante asked.

"Well, we're not doing the old script written by William Shakespeare. I've written a modern rendition of the paly." Auntie Katelyn said.

"What about auditions for Romeo, which part are we doing and how?" Garroth asked.

"We'll have you improv the balcony scene, please do you're best to modernize it." Auntie Katelyn said.

"How will be be judged?" Travis asked.

"You'll be judged on three things. One how well you can improv, two natural talent, and three how to audience responds to you." Auntie Katelyn said. Mama headed up to the balcony that we had built to do the play. Everyone walked off stage and waited for mama to get on the balcony. "Ok, Garroth you're up first." Auntie Katelyn said. Garroth came onto the stage and started talking, I didn't get anything he was saying. "Stop for a second Garroth." Auntie Katelyn said. She turned to look at me. "I'm guessing you didn't get any of that?" She asked. I nodded. "Thank you Garroth, but I wanted you to modernize it. I love old scripture as much as the next person. Next!" Auntie Katelyn said. Garroth walked off stage looking sad about not getting the part. Laurance walked on stage next. He started talking before mama said something about skype. "Aphmau what are you doing?" Auntie Katelyn asked.

"What? You didn't give me the script so I'm doing my best to improv." Mama said. Auntie Katelyn sighed before looking at Laurance. "Next!" She yelled. Dante walked on with his phone and didn't say anything. Mama's phone went off before she pulled it out. "Did you really just text me?" Mama asked.

"Well yeah, it's supposed to be modern so texting seems to be the best way to make it modern." Dante said.

"It's a little creepy." Mama said.

"Is it even creepier when you think that I'm in the bushes texting you.

"Wow, Katelyn this play is getting too deep." Mama said.

"Next!" Auntie Katelyn yelled. Dante walked off the stage, Travis walked on stage and more people showed up in the room. "Who are all of these people?" Auntie Katelyn asked.

"Just a few people who were in my previous plays." Travis said. Auntie Katelyn sighed while the girls cheered for him. He did his lines and because of the people I saw auntie Katelyn write his name down with a question mark next to it. "Next!" Katelyn yelled. Papa walked on stage and I was super excited to see what papa did. He started talking but auntie Katelyn stopped him. "Aaron I just need you to remove your hooded mask so I can see your emotion as well as hear you better.

"Oh, no problem." Papa said. When he took off his hood everyone started cheering. "Wow, this is the best response. Aaron you get the part of Romeo." Auntie Katelyn said. I ran up to him on stage and hugged him. "Papa you did great." I said.

"I didn't even say anything though." Papa said.

"Who cares, the response of this crowd is amazing." Auntie Katelyn said. I looked up at mama to see her red face. "Is mama okay?" I asked papa.

"She's just embarrassed." Papa said. I looked at her and smile while her face stayed red.
