Chapter 20

Y/n's POV

I was helping auntie Katelyn get ready for the play that was starting in a couple hours. "Y/n do you have the rest of the scripts?" Katelyn asked. I nodded and handed her the last script she had. "Thank you." She said. She grabbed the rest of her stuff before Gar and Lar came into the room. "Katelyn, we need to tell you that Aaron will not be here because he's sick." Lar said. I looked at him, confused, as Gar tried backing him up. "Auntie Katelyn, papa's in the back." I said. Dante came out from the backstage to see us. "What's going on?" He asked. 

"Garroth and Laurance keep trying to get Aaron out of the play so they can stop the kissing scene." Auntie Katelyn said. 

"Oh, yeah. Last I checked, Aaron was in the back rehearsing his lines." Dante said. Auntie Katelyn started getting super mad at Lar and Gar. She walked away and headed backstage. I followed her, happy to see that Gar and Lar wouldn't ruin her play. "I'm sorry about them, don't worry though I'll make sure they don't ruin the play." Auntie Katelyn said. I smiled and continued following her. We checked with everyone, making sure they were ready for the play to happen. "Mama, are you okay?" I asked, pulling on her hand. She looked at me, a little scared. "Y/n! What are you doing back here?" She asked, freaking out. Zane came over and saw what was going on with me and mama. "She's back here making sure you're ready for the play." He said. I nodded and looked at her. She took a deep breath and looked at me. "I'm sorry if I was freaking you out. I'm just not sure about doing this now." Mama said.

"Mama made a promise. You can't go back on it now." I said.

"You just want to go to Olive Garden." Mama said. I smiled nodding, she let out a sigh before kissing me on the forehead. "Fifteen minutes until curtain call." Auntie Katelyn said over a speaker system. Jeffory came into the backstage. "Hey Aph, you back here?" Jeffory asked. He looked at mama and Zane. "Aph, thank you so much for helping Katelyn. After this, I'll take everyone out to my favorite restaurant." Jeffory said. I got excited and looked up at mama. "Is Zane welcome to come?" Mama asked.

"I guess, make sure that you invite him." Jeffory said.

"I'm standing right here you know." Zane said.

"Break a leg out there. Not literally, unless it's you Zane." Jeffory said. 

"Five minutes to curtain call. Places." Katelyn said over the speakers. I let go of mama's hand and headed out to a chair to watch the play. I sat near the front watching as the play started, Travis told us what the story was before everything started. The play was really funny with what auntie Katelyn did. When auntie Katelyn called for intermission I hopped on stage and headed behind the curtain. "Auntie Katelyn!" I called running up to her.

"Hey there little co-director, need something?" She asked. I shook my head, I looked up to see Travis sitting on a box. "Quick question, where's Aphmau?" Auntie Katelyn asked.

"She's in her dressing room, I know because I was kicked out of there." Travis said.

"Can I go see mama?" I asked. 

"Sure." Auntie Katelyn said. I ran to mama's dressing room to see her freaking out. "Mama are you okay?" I asked. She turned and looked at me. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little nervous about kissing Aaron." Mama said. 

"I thought mama would be happy to finally kiss papa." I said.

"Shh, please don't talk about that here for now." Mama said quieting me.

"But mama..." I said. She walked over and kneeled down in front of me. "I'm sorry sweetie, I just don't want you saying things that might not be true for now." Mama said. She kissed my forehead and patted my head. "I'll tell everyone once me and Aaron are ready." Mama said. I nodded and felt the need to go to the bathroom. "Mama where's the bathroom?" I asked. She looked at me before leading me out to the bathroom. She headed back to the stage, after I finished using the restroom I walked out to see boards on the boys bathroom door. I sniffed the boards smelling Gar on the boards, while papa's scent was coming from the bathroom. "Papa are you in there?" I asked. 

"Yeah, I'm in here. Do you think you can get the boards off?" Papa asked. I tried to pull some of the boards off only to fail. "I can't do it papa." I said sadly. 

"Don't worry about it then. Please go enjoy the play." Papa said. 

"No I want papa to be there." I said pulling on the boards again. I managed to pull a couple of the boards off. "Papa I pulled a couple off." I said. He pulled the door open and pushed a few boards off too. "Thank you little cub." Papa said picking me up. We snuck into the threater and finished watching the play. I watched as at the end of the play when the kissing part was coming mama disappeared before Lar appeared on stage. He kissed Gar since he was playing papa's role, they both screamed and ran off stage. I ended up in a giggling fit because of them. "What's so funny?" Papa asked. 

"Auntie Katelyn promised they wouldn't mess up the play, but I think they made it better I think." I said trying to contain my giggles. After the play ended we went back stage and told them about what happened to papa. After everyone got out of their costumes mama and papa headed out to the stage. I followed them out to the stage and stood next to them. "I'm sorry about Garroth and Laurance." Mama said.

"It's okay I think they learned their lesson." Papa said.

"I was sort of looking forward to that kissing scene." Mama said.

"Then why don't you kiss?" I asked. Mama started blushing and freaking out while papa got closer to mama. They kissed in front of me and mama seemed to enjoy it. After that they made me promise to not tell anyone then we went to dinner with everyone.
